My new Orc character, help?

Post » Sat Sep 08, 2012 9:01 pm

Ok so I have done 3 playthroughs so far, one imperial, one khajit, one dunmer and now I would like to do an Orc. I have played as a mage, assasin and warrior and am thinking of going barbarian stereo typical orc for this one.

I'm thinking of roleplaying this one a bit more though, with my dunmer I didn't really play as the evil mage I said I was going too. This time I'm not going to make any exceptions!

I would kind of like to make the Orc religious, maybe only believe/follow in Malacath. Any insight on how to effectively role-play as a follower of malacth would be appreciated!

Also, I would like him to be racist, xD what sort or race's could an orc have reason to hate?

Visiting the Orc strongholds is fun when you are one.

Racism generally isn't for any substantial reason. Someone rubs you the wrong way, someone else of the same gender/race/whatever rubs you the wrong way. It happens a few times and tada, you have heavy handed statements and sentiments. Or you're just brought up to think that X demographic is shiftless and lazy, and Y demographic are all thieves.

Just pick someone or something to not like.

A true Orc doesn't take [censored] from anyone. filty milk drinkers... Take on any brawl for respect in the holds. Pick a stronghold and live there perhaps. You can marry an Orc male of female as well. You can even RP being the chief of a stronghold cause one in my game anyway has no chief. got killed by a giant even after the quest to stop the giant attacks was completed. Get the hammer of Malacath and use it as a primary weapon. Wear either fur or heavy barbaric looking armor.

My Orc wears heavy armor and likes to use her fists... a lot. heh. hand to hand combat with a dragon is awesome. Orcs are about brute strength.

Well to have an idea for Skills you can use these for examples. I prefer being armored in all orc armor and orc weapons, duel wielder or two-handed.

I agree to to the Orc strongholds. Get an Orc follower and/or wife.

Well, the strongholds are definitely going to be a frequented stop for you. You must never shy away from a battle or a challenge. (That doesn't mean never falling back to regain strength. It means coming back twice as tough to defeat you enemies no matter what.) You need to be tough, self reliant, and accept no BS from people. If you are challenged to a fight, do not ever back down. But try not to go looking for fights all the time. (Unless you want to.)

Orcs have reasons to hate bretons and reguards. They have destroyed their home land many times over. Orcs also tend to dislike elves. Just because they are filthy milk-drinking spell slingers.

My orc also carries every good in Skyrim she could find regarding the Orcs. Code of Malacath and what not. She reads them when she is alone.

A true Orc looks for battle. Its in battle that they hope to die. Not as some old man sitting in a dark room with long grey hair hoping someone will visit soon and help them get to the bed. You'll notice the lack of old male Orcs in the strongholds. They do not believe growing old.

My orc gets into a lot of fights. Can't say how many times in Whiterun she had to pay off the guards after punching Nazeem in the face for his tone of voice "Have you been to the cloud district? Oh of course you haven't"

The last part of your post made me laugh lol, what can you do at the strongolholds though? and where apart from the strongholds would be a fitting place for an orc to settle??

Hmm... Well, you can challenge each of the stronghold chiefs to a fist fight. You win some gold, and their respect. If you beat every chief in a fist fight, then at least you can say you're the toughest Orc in Skyrim. Being an Orc, they let you into the strongholds right away, but they may not all accept you right away. You are what they would call a "city Orc".

Alternatively, you can chat up the locals in the stronghold, (some can become companions). You can mine for Orichalcum ore in the mines, and then forge new armor and weaponry with it (Orcs are the best blacksmiths in Tamriel!)

I enjoy going into the wilderness near the strongholds and hunting. Then I bring the food back to the stronghold and cook/eat it. I leave what I didn't eat for my Orc brothers and sisters. As another poster said, a certain stronghold is the start of Malacath's daedric quest. Can't remember which one... Bah! Doesn't matter; just visit them all!

I think Orcs would have natural hate and anger towards the humanoid races, Nords, Imperials, Redquards. Orcs usually don't like anyone but they seem to naturally dislike humans..

I just made an Orc barbarian character too and there are some great routes you can go with one. Make sure to use the Orc strongholds because they are perfect for what you're looking for. No other race is welcome within the strongholds unless they earn the repect of the housing Orcs and earning their repect isn't exactly easy. The strongholds make for great free housing and you can be surrounded by other Orcs and barabarians.

Try to get the legendary warhammer Volendrung when you can. You obtain it upon completion of the Daedric quest The Cursed Tribe. No Orc barbarian is complete without that beast of a warhammer. It's an artifact held by orcs so the weapon only makes sense for you to have. If you're like me you're not crazy in to warhammers, but it's just so perfect that I keep it around and use it for certain things. I actually run around with two war axes with my barbarian. There's just something sick seeing a huge Orc cutting off heads with a couple of war axes. That picture of the barbaric Orc holding out the war axes during one of the loading screens was basically the inspiration for my entire build!
