First time playing Main Quest

Post » Sat Sep 08, 2012 2:56 pm

So, I have a Khajiit assassin type, Nightingale armor and stuff like that. I thought that it would be cool to play the Main Quest because then everyone will love me and stuff like that. And this is not one of my roleplay characters, just a character to do everything on, explore everything. But I don't really seem to like it.. How do you guys think about the MQ?

The MQ, I think it's boring.

The MQ is alright. I did it a few times, got bored of the nordy-dragonish theme quickly.

By the way, maybe you could try to play it again, but on a "roleplay character" and see how it goes.

Main Quest is good... but it can be difficult as a Stealth based thief character. (especially if you're roleplaying really hard)
I don't know what level you are, but Dragons are not easy to kill with bows, you usually need some melee combat to get the job done.

My Thief is level 70, but never finished more than half of the MQ.
I finished the MQ with a warrior... much less frustrating.

ah, ok.

well... the mainquest is not for thieves or assassins. it fits perfectly for the standard warrior. i dislike the mainquest on non-warrior characters, too.

i did like it the first playthrough, which was with a warrior.

MQ was okay, I completed it on my first playthrough and never bothered doing it again. It was decent as far as the quests go but the fact it starts spawning random dragon attacks has kept me from playing it again. They got annoying after a while so that's the only reason I've never gave it a 2nd playthrough. I could see it being difficult as a stealth character though.

I'm still going through the main quest - so far I like it, it has you do a little bit of everything and dip your toe in various places of the game world. The only complaint I have about it is that most of it has no noticeable impact neither on the game world, nor on how your character is treated by others.

I think no for your theif. This is how i would play it.

A Warrior should do all the good stuff, No Deadric, No Stealing and Stuff. Join the Companions. mostly all of the quests, But then again there is a million.

A Mage should be the one exploring ruins and such, With there deadly Magic powers, Joining the Companions, this is up to you to select the path good or evil

The Assasin type should be in the Darkbrotherhood and Theives guild to be the ultimate assassain/Theif, and that way they got Awesome armor and such.

The Theif should just steal stuff and do sneaky quests for the Guild, Avoiding All Combat

The Assassain, should have two Daggers, and try to sneak upon any enemy they see

Why? Daedric artifacts in forms of hammers, axes and mails don't exist for nothing. Furthermore, why would you think all all warriors should be "good"?
You mentioned the Companions, who aren't exactly "good".
