Capcom just got from bad to worse

The above article states that Capcom is cutting resources to make development time shorter and thus release more shoddy dlc with more sequels made in half the time. This is just another example of Cashcom showing their true colors

I've never really had much respect for Capcom to begin with. It seems to be a glorified sweat shop.

This article also shows how Cashcom pretty much treats its employees like nothing:

I've got all I need out of Capcom: SSF4. As far as I'm concerned they can go down in flames. None of their other titles interest me.

They abandoned the MH franchise in the west, don't give a [censored] about them anymore.

Capcom is one of the worst when it comes to DLC. Street Fighter X Tekken had 12 fully functional characters on the disc which were locked away for a future DLC pack, at the price of 20 dollars.

Luckily I've never been a fan of their games, Resident Evil 4 is the only one I played.

This doesn't really change anything. I'll buy Capcom titles that seem worth the money and avoid those that don't. They've made plenty of decisions I disagree with (like pretty much every company this generation), yet still produce too many quality games for me to swear them off, or whatever.

Heck, they make up a decent chunk of the games I've bought this generation:

Dragon's Dogma
Resident Evil 5
Devil May Cry 4
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Resident Evil Revelations
Monster Hunter Tri
Monster Hunter Freedom, Freedom 2, Unite
Okamiden
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Mega Man 9, 10
Street Fighter IV
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All, Trials and Tribulations, Apollo Justice

Nope. Not about to close that door just because of some shoddy DLC, especially with Ace Attorney 5, Resident Evil 6 and Monster Hunter 4 coming up.

I'll say that again: http://andriasang.com/con2lm/ace_attorney_screens/.

Yeah pretty much this

I wouldn't say abandoned just yet. We got Tri in 2010 and they've promised Western MH news by the end of the year. They skipped over MHP3, but the PSP is in pretty bad shape at this point (you know the platform is dead when Square doesn't localize a Final Fantasy game) as well as the HD version, citing online multiplayer as the key to the series' Western success. This combined with the promised MH news makes me think that Monster Hunter 4 will get online support and end up being localized.

Of course, I wouldn't get your hopes up, though there is some big Monster Hunter 4 news set for this year's Tokyo Game Show that might give us a better idea of whether or not it's coming to the West.

Capcom can burn. Haven't bought anything from them in a very long time and don't plan on it anytime soon.

Capcom made some good games in the past: Resident Evil 2 & 3 along with Dino Crysis 2 among my favorite games. Everything else is bad

Capcom, you've lost my respect as a game development company. I'm even ashamed to say I wasted my time looking at your job listing hoping to become a level designer.

In addition, we will increase the number of titles released in a single year and expand earnings using a hybrid development model whereby the core portions of the project are developed in-house by Capcom and the process-work is outsourced to outside development companies.

Think this really solidifies my belief that Capcom is doomed. They actually believe quantity over quality will rake in the money? Personally, i'm praying they do some stupid crap like releasing 30 DLCs that costs them 75k a piece to develope, and they earn nothing off them.

The blame isn't all on Capcom, however. I blame the ideals of gamers, mostly the kiddies that want to be entertained for 5 minutes doing "cool stuff."
