Anyone else hate Markarth?

Post » Mon Sep 10, 2012 6:29 pm

I just simply hate the city of Markarth. Not only it is a great pain to navigate through it, (the friggin maze of stairs) the interiors are all pretty much the same and there aren't any interesting quests other than the whole Forsworn / Silver Hand thing and the daedric quest. I don't even like thieving in Markarth, maybe the whole dwarwen architecture gets me claustrophobic, I don't know. I don't like much the dwarwen ruin dungeons either. It gets me frustrated to get a quest in one of them.

Does anyone else feel the same?

I really like the dwemer-inspired architecture, it gives the city a unique atmosphere. Can't say much about quests since so far I've visited it only briefly a few times, each time while doing a quest I got somewhere else. The first time I was there was indeed hard to navigate - especially since I found myself inside the temple of Dibella. After a few visits, however, you become familiar with it.

Hard to navigate?
Its basically one big circle.
Its easier to get around in Markath as it is in Solitude, because Solitude is bascially one big line, so that involves more running around to get from place to place.

I also hate it - only went there once and quickly ended up in the silver mines, took me quite some time to get out of there alive. The people there are terrible and it seems like the city has great trouble with poverty.

I don't plan to go back there soon.

The concept idea and everything about the city was well done I think. It's just that I don't feel welcome there :-/
