Hi everyone,

I got about 200 hours playtime and I still haven′t figured out how to hotkey weapons distinctly to the right and left hand. Since I am playing a battlemage and frequently using spells I can never go back to my weapons after using hotkeys. The hotkeys - instead of putting one weapon into the right and the other into the left hand just puts them into the right hand, while the left hand remains with the spell. This is extremely annoying. Is there some way around it?

not sure, but don't you put them in both hands if you use the same weapon, not smithed, twice? like you have 2 ironswords and you placed them on the "1" key... i think you could double click 1 to equip them in both hands. does not work with smithed weapons.

I'm curious about this too.

I recently tried a character who relied on bound sword in his right hand, and other spells in his left. When he ran out of magicka he'd switch to just using the sword so he could block. Anyone who plays on xbox knows what a pain this can be, as you simply cannot remove a spell from your left hand on the fly (I hate opening the favourites menu every time I change spell). Especially with a build like this, you need to be able to block pretty quickly.

This has been an issue that has plagued the game since the release. There is yet to be anything seen as to rectify the current situation. I fear that it is what it is.

One is left with reverting to the favorites. I would suggest hotkeying spells and select the the weapon of choice as the "last" action of the favorite list. That way it will be ready at the selection. Thus making the transition of the weapon as seamless as possible.
