How quick do you get board with skyrim DLC's

Post » Tue Sep 11, 2012 8:38 pm

Ok so i have noticed a few things about people who play skyrim and arn't use to playing RPG games,
First thing is that you have to realize that publishers like bethesda pride themselves on adding things to the game that they are not going to gloat about like adding the fact you can get custome shield, custome tiara, or custome staff in the dawnguard dlc if you find the book to start the quest. So when you get one of these dlc's either dawnguard of hearthfire how much do you dig into it before you right it off as a dlc that is only what they told you ?

I have been playing Skyrim since last November, and I would have to admit I was starting to lose interest before any DLC was released. The DLC has kept me playing longer, but releasing it a bit earlier would have kept the enthusiasm a bit higher. I hardly ever listen to anything they tell us, and I like to investigate things myself, so I rarely get unreal expectations of what these things are going to be. So far I have been very pleased with what they have given us, both the free extras like the mounted combat and death cams, and the DLC we brought. So long as they keep giving me something new to explore and keep me happy, I will keep playing. But there are some very good games gathering dust on my shelf I would like one day to get a chance to play. None of them would hold my interest that long though, so I can always return to Skyrim.

Oblivion and Skyrim are the only RPG's I have ever played, one day I will hopefully get around to playing Morrowind.

After building the house, it's pretty useless. I mean, what can you actually do with the house? Do people spend hours just roaming around looking at the same chest, chair, bed skins rather that going out exploring? I've always thought that other than for storing stuff, houses in TES games are pretty useless. Not a whole lot you can do with them entertainment wise.

No, however in the interest of actually RP'ing my character, Nocturne does actually sit in a chair in his Library and read the tomes of lore that he has collected.

I mean, the stories and background on the world he's in are simply amazing. I've spent whole sessions on this game just reading book after book. It's easy to get caught up in them.

I love it, and this type of detail to the game is one of the endearing traits to the Elder Scrolls series.

I dont think i could ever get bored of Skyrim, I have been playing it since release and i have taken small breaks for other games I always return to Skyrim, There is always somthing to do, see, stab, or shoot. And the DLC does keep me interested considering i have done every quest, sidequest, temple quest, dungeon quest, guild quest, misc quest, Litterally everything except kill a legendary dragon and that keeps me pretty motivated these days.

Yeah, what's up with that? Are other people getting lumber with their purchase? I want lumber!

Glad to see that i'm not the only one who thinks this but also part of the question was how deep do you go into the DLC's to discover custome weapons or armor that they put in without telling you i know dawnguard has a good amount of new armor and a few new custome ones how motivated are you to get these items and how many of you even know about them ?

You do realize if you travel to the sawmill close to your house the npc sells you lumber right

Well, just like with the base vanilla game, every time my avatars wander out to explore, they try to explore in every possible nook and cranny.

In a dungeon, my avatars get into every corner and crevasse that they can find. I'll even make a quick save and jump down into places that you're normally not supposed to go. When meeting a new enemy, I get the thrill of the hunt as my Assassin's try to kill it in as many different ways as possible, just so that they can find the most efficient way possible to do so.

So I guess in answer to your question, I dig as deep as the shovel will take me. lol

Hmm, I've played Dawnguard 4 times and I've built and rebuilt all the houses in Hearthfire a couple of times. I'm not bored with either DLC yet, so when I do, I'll let you know.

It's not lumber, its lumbar. Bethesda was marketing a chair that more effectivly supports your back, however many people (including the op) thought it referred to timber.
