I'd like to give up on the PS3 and get an XBOX

Post » Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:48 am

Does anyone have the game on XBOX? I'm thinking of getting an XBOX and then re-buying the two fallouts and skyrim so I can enjoy them more. Are there any major differences in experience I would notice between XBOX and PS3? (besides they apparently work on XBOX). Anyone else go to this extreme?

If I was in to conspiracies then I'd say you're playing right in to Beth's/microsoft's hands :P

My thoughts exactly.

But besides that, do you really think it's worth all that money for one game? And, to answer your question, my husband plays on XBOX. He still has an occaisional freeze, long loading times and bugged quests. He does have the add ons. If that's worth it to you, then go ahead and make Bethesda and Microsoft happy.

Well I'm in the same boat.............
I'm sick of not getting dlc for my ps3 skyrim - just as i was sick of not getting the dlc for my ps3 Oblivion.

I thoroughly detest the situation in which i have to abandon my chosen platform just to get the dlc the xbox users can take for granted, but what can you do? stick to ones principles just to spite Bethesda and lose out on the wider gaming experience?

So, whilst i will keep my ps3 for all my other titles - i'm gonna have to capitulate and go the xbox route just like Bethesda wants (it would seem). The thing is, i don't even like the feel of the xbox controller with its asymetric anologue sticks :(

At the least if you can afford it, upgrade your PC, or get a bargain basemant game pc that can run Skyrim ( if you can't make one yourself ) and get the game for PC. I mean, if your adamant about spending duplicate money, for the same game, at least take advantage of the available USKP http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19 so you can at least be rid of those particular bugs. You'll also have access to all the other mods ( graphic and UI improvements most noticeably ) to enhance your game a bit more.

this is why bethesda will continue to screw the ps3 players.

Yep, many like it, but I think that with the exception of the old Jaguar controller, and perhaps maybe...er...the old Intellivision contoller ( man I hated that thing ), the Xbox controller ranks right up there at the top ( imo ) for being one of the worst controller designs ever made. Don't flame me 360 fans, I just don't personally like them... no insult is intended or implied!

Give up my PS3 for a 360? Hmmm OK but only when the following are true.

1) The 360 can be used to watch and record live tv (PlayTV)
2) The 360 can play Blu-Rays
3) The 360 has free online gaming
4) The 360 allows me to browse the web
5) The 360 doesn't require me to buy overpriced proprietary addons

Well? no? oh well I'll keep my PS3 then.

Remember 9/10 developers get it right.....so the 1/10 is therefore Bethesda.

Pffft buying an Xbox just to play one or two games by a company that has repeatedly screwed over the PS3 community, each to thier own and all that but as has been said, only buy pre-owned.

Check out the reports of issues with Skyrim and the DLC on XBox as there are quite a few since 1.07 landed it seems.

Something else I was going to say, now what was it?..........Oh yeah,

Damn surrender monkeys. ;)

Sorry but I don't get this idea at all. Of course its your money but really, wtf?

You're going to sell off your current game console at a significant markdown and buy a new Xbox 360. You do realize that both consoles are circling the drain, so to speak, in terms of life right?

You would be much better off at this point abandoning your console for a cheap gaming PC. It will cost you a bit more, but it will likely outlive and be much more versatile than investing in a product near the end of its life.

I've said this in another thread but I'll repeat it again.. I have the xbox version, Skyrim is the first game that I didn't play on my PS3 first..

and let me tell you, I've had problems with the xbox version, which according to some folks on site is a flawless version.

Stuttering - pretty much all the time, more so when there a lot of things on the screen
(hard) freezes which require me to unplug the 360.
glitches (people/animals stuck in the environment)
quests not updating and broken misc quests
save game corruptions (6 times now and that's 5 times too many)
only a few occasions I've the game totally reset on me and the 360 restarts itself.
GFX slowdowns.. was especially noticeable to me whilst doing "The Civil War" part of the MQ and since I sided with the Stormcloaks, we attacked Whiterun.. that was a 20min stuttering slideshow
Items disappearing from my inventory - this one is annoying, one moment (let's say) your bow is there and the next it's gone.. actually lost many items, don't know why it does it but I've experienced it.
