getting random freezes

Post » Sat Sep 15, 2012 2:33 pm

I cant picture when they started as i havent had much time to play over the few weeks and have been adding mods gradually with not a big test period. Now i have more time to play and im getting random freezes, ive done 5 tests with generally running around the riverwood, whiterun area involving little combat, the first test it froze at 39secs, then the 2nd at 8mins, then 3rd at 10mins, then 4th at 4mins and the 5th freezing at 5mins. So it does appear to be random, now without me having to uninstall every mod and start again can you see if i have any troublesome mods? I know SOS are known to be bad but ive had them running fine since launch.

Also is it safe using bash to clean your mods by UDR?

Uninstall all mods and start a new game. If the issue goes away, it's likely a mod issue and belongs here: http://www.gamesas.com/forum/183-skyrim-mods/

1. Did you have SOS Civilization installed at any point?

2. Bash can only (so far) identify the UDRs, it can't get rid of them for you.

1. No just the first two (my save file size is 9mb btw)
2. Isnt there a button called undelete references in the mod cleaning menu in bash? (not at my pc right now) i thought there was for some reason.

The option is there, but for Skyrim there isn't enough record support for it to do anything. It'll just say no changes are needed.

The two SOS modules you're using are fine. I don't know enough about most of the rest of what you're running to make an informed comment about any of it. I've been taking the super cautious approach to mods. I'm also not a big fan of large scale overhauls.

I have had issues with freezing as well... and believe most had to due with load order and audio issues.

Check out this thread for some of my updates as well the OP findings... http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1408950-random-freezing/page__p__21519595#entry21519595

After running BOSS, removing some audio mods, disabled all win7 and RealTek audio sound effects, rested for 3 days indoors I have had only 2 freezes in the last week.
Not sure I am able to pin point what fixed it but I am happy again.
