New to Skyrim on PC. Please Help!

Post » Sat Sep 15, 2012 9:20 pm

I just got a gaming PC and I started up Skyrim. I tried to play through the opening sequence, but my character wouldn't move fast. He was walking like he was over-encumbered. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I do have some mods and SKSE installed. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Turn off your cap lock.
Or turn it on.

Caps lock toggles run, basically.

default is off. but if you turn it on instead of hitting tab to exit a menu, and press it once the menu is closed, you'll still walk. turn back on cap lock and you move normally.

so yeah. sometimes turning it on works. but its defaulted off.

Hmm, you might be right there. I've been basing it on Morrowind's system where run is set to off by default, I may have just assumed it was the same in Skyrim.

Either way, press the damned capslock key. :P

Same here, with the controller. Movement is so much easier with anolog sticks.
