Horses in Skyrim are to be quite honest about it, lame, I mean their great but honestly not intresting enough to use for travel, I mean here comes the dragonborn coming to kick some a** and he pulls up on a ...... Pony?
Wouldnt it be intresting to give each biome a "Shadowmere" or "Arvak" for instance, in the tundra biome a horse that is the weather with gusts of snow and wind just blowing off of it or in the hotsprings area a horse whos footsteps melt the rocks around it or maybe in the highlands a legendary beast that can start thunderstorms by running, but heres the catch you want one? You have to earn it. Not talking about doing some side missions or paying a couple 1000 coins. Chump change. You want these creatures of legend you have to find them and tame them by conquering over them. Boss battles of legend. Wnd it doesnt have to stop at horses maybe new elementals, that protect sancuaries of wild life kind of like spriggans but not as flimsey. Then maybe the bandits would think twice about asking you to pay toll.

I would prefer if my character was just a normal person and not this dragonborn guy.

It would give me much more satisfaction overcoming insurmountable odds.
