Lack of Evilness

I was trying to play an Evil character, you know a guy who murders, steals and does everything he can to cause chaos. But it felt wrong. Because for one, I wanted to use shouts, but doing the main quest made me feel 'good'. It made me feel like people loved my character. And even if I didn't do the MQ, the quest would forever be in my journal. Why can't I at least cancel the quest so that my character never has to bother with it, or why can't there be an 'evil' version of the MQ? I'm not suggesting that you help Alduin and save the world, I'm simply saying a way to get shouts and kill Alduin without having to feel like a good guy.

Next point, side quests. Most of the side quests in this game are about helping people. I know there are quests that you can finish in an evil way, but those are far and few between. Most quests are your character helping someone find an item or resolve a dispute. Now, you could say, why don't you just not do those quests? Well, because that's BORING! Why can't I get each quest have an evil option? Say someone gives you 500 septims to deliver to their friend in Whiterun or something, and you go to deliver them but instead keep them for yourself and rub it in the persons face. That's just an example but you get my drift.

Finally, infamy. You could be the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, the Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild, you could've murdered every single person you can... and yet the average person in a town will STILL act like you're a completely normal person. In Oblivion, at least people would hate you and some would even attack you just for being infamous. It makes no sense to me why they would take this out and ruin the immersion of being a bad guy! I thought this game was about playing how you wanted to play, but even if my character does the most evil things he can and ignores all of the sidequests, the mere fact he is Dragonborn means the whole world love him. Not cool.

listen, i know how to be evil and i tell you that the most evil thing is to turn people against eachother. go to an imperial fort and use mayhem, every time you see a farmer and his wife, have them kill eachother, everytime you see two vigils of stendarr, have them kill eachother, it makes you feel like freaking voldemort

100% agree. But that's streamlining for you... :P

Ans it's as you said, at least in Oblivion there were Fame and Infamy levels...

In my opinion almost all of Oblivion's quests were good quests. For me at least I've seen more evil quests in Skyrim then I did in Oblivion.

I completely agree about Fame/Infamy, I didn't want the system that Oblivion used but I definitely wish we had something more then "Divines smile on you friend".

...although I admit I love some of the quotes people say to you when they're angry:

"Something you need, you miserable wench?" (in a very polite tone...just cracks me up every time I hear it ).

"I've pictured so many delightful ways to see you DEAD.."

etc xD

Its not the same. He wants his character to be recognized by the game as evil.
