random atttacks

Now, I know that you'll get random attacks from Dark Brotherhood assassins, and sometimes non-guilded "Thieves" will show up in some cities, but today is the first day I've ever had a full-blow attack by the stupid Thalmor, complete with the orders to take down my character because he had "interupted" their services or something....

Now..... I should point out...... The last character I had attacked by them was my first, AFTER doing Diplomatic Immunity.... This character hasn't even gone into the Barrows yet.... So why in Talos' name would they be attacking someone who hasn't even DONE anything to them? I seroiusly find it hard to believe its just as random as the DB attacks..... Its got to be a major (and very stupid) glitch.....

Any thoughts?

I enjoy my thalmor visits. they don't happen often enough. I go out of my want to taunt them with my Talos worship... or I lie and say I worship Talos just to pick a fight haha.

Those hit squads are the best. those letters make me feel like a bad ass when you how dangerious they think you are hehe

It's not a glitch. I was just attacked by their assassination squad last night. They were the first Thalmor I killed with the current character, and all I was doing was wandering down the trail minding my own business. They spotted me from a distance and it was on like Donkey Kong.

The only thing I'd done so far that could have ticked them off (possibly: it's a matter of some debate) is finish In My Time Of Need by turning Saadia over to the Alik'r who are looking for her. But others have reported being targeted by the Thalmor without doing any quests that seem to involve them at all.

I would say it has something to do with the fact that you were at Helgen with Ulfric and they think you had something to do with what went down there, but their internal documents indicate that they didn't want Ulfric executed anyway and besides that how would they know your name when you weren't on anybody's list? I guess if the character creation screen counts as giving the Imperials your name there would be a record of it, but I have to assume that list went bye-bye when Alduin torched the town.
