Okay so I started up my computer and loaded skyrim and whatnot and at the beginning of the game I'm trying to figure out how to use the Xbox controller but it won't work!!!! The option in the gameplay menu doesn't do [censored] all and there are no buttons on my tower that do anything either so WTF can someone tell me the one easy step I'm missing?

There should be an option in the control settings to change to Xbox 360 controller.

Are you using the Wireless Controller? Then you need the wireless receiver for that attached to your PC. If you are using the corded one, then just make sure you have the drivers for it.

Is it something I can just stick on? or is it in the computer?

I know what you mean OP. It was very difficult to get my wired 360 controller to work with my PC. I actually had to get up and plug the USB into the front port on my tower.
