When you play a warrior, do you use enchanted gear?

Post » Thu Sep 20, 2012 11:05 am

Just wondering, because unless you take up enchanting, some of the unique gear, such as Wolf or Ancient Nord armor, or even just armor you smith yourself, isn't enchanted, do you use that gear and just put on whatever modest enchantment you can manage or do you just buy or use pre-enchanted gear you find?

Yeah, I used the Fortify restoration loop to make OP enchantments.

My Warriors increase their damage mainly by Smithing. I only invest in health, so they are rather tuff to contend with, anyway. I base them on that alone. Then if I find a piece of enchanted gear that I like, (fitting to the look) they are just a bonus. I am partial to other armors, in lieu of the Wolf.

However, i have had warriors that Enchant. It really depends on the character's personality.

i did the same as well as found a way to make them work without having to wear the gear, look at my content topics to see how
but if you dont want to cheat, enchantments such as fortify one handed and two handed are well worth it

Equipment with magic resistance is always nice when facing mages, dragons and the like. I don't go after anything offensive, unless it's dungeon loot, and then that's never used long term.

As for weapons, I do like enchanting weapons with soul trap+absorb stamina, as my warriors never seem to have enough.

I roleplay so it dpends on the character, not me. Some characters use enchanted gear, some don't.

I have very few characters that will actually shun magical gear. So, yeah, I've warrior that will use enchanted gear and weapons, but only a few that will enchant their own... only two actually, and one wasn't a warrior, but a thief.

Admire that! I want to RP a pure warrior character - I really do - but I'm hopelessly addicted to conjuration - so I end up caving to the lure of Winterhold and go for enchanting too - that double enchantment perk is like a bloody siren calling me to the sea of enchantment!!

Seems found enchanted items (esp. armor) in Skyrim aren't nearly as nifty as in Oblivion...but maybe I feel that way because I'm just not finding myself keeping anything...(oh...I do have some killer found Orcish armor stowed away in Breezehome...forgot about that - I was amazed I found it)

 I know the feeling quite well. It was a long time before I was able to actuall play without usiong Dead Thralls...it's still very hard... :sadvaultboy: Maybe someone will start a support group for people like us.

"Hello...My name is Mr. 5. I am a Conjurer...."

While I do Enchant with "some" characters, pending roleplay, the found enchantments do grant a "Wow! I can use that!" factor into the gameplay. While they are by far the inferior of created effects and the "Double Effects"..It's nice to get that little personal victory ever so often.

Like playing DID, it adds another raw emotion that only be appreciated form the implementation of that playstyle.

Generally, speaking yes.

I haven't quite decided the exact direction I'll take the next addition to my roster (The DLC will decide that - I'm quite happy with the characters I've got at the moment) but he'll like only use enchanted jewelry that he finds/is given. Weapon at a stretch, but definitely not armour.

On characters that aren't fully pursuing Enchanting (since it's worthless unless you really go into it), I use found/bought enchanted gear. Possibly improved with Smithing.

(My first character, for instance, was using a mix of Elven/Glass/Hide armor in the 30's and 40's, because they had useful enchants on them. Only "home made" item was throwing Soul Trap 1 Second on a sword.)

I actually have made only one character out of my four that has reached 100 in enchanting. I usually just find loot out in the wilds and use that stuff. Unless I really like the look of something, then I just won't enchant it. Simple as that. My recent Imperial Legion soldier has used the gear he first smithed, heavy legion armor, and hasn't put any enchantments on it at all. Although I did find a nifty Imperial soul trap sword that I started to use, just so I could fill up my soul gems and sell them for gold.
