WHY are they set as essential when they serve zero purpose? You dont even speak to them when you do the Civil war quests, it's either Rekke or Golmar who you report to, plus after the Civil war quests are completed, Tullius or Ulfric even ask you to clean out the enemy civil war camps so the enemy give up and go home...but the enemy captains of these camps are unkillable.
I would be greatly appreciated if, in a future patch, Bethesda adjusts them so I am able to kill them, as I hate having to run away from someone who is supposed to die after I wiped out the entire camp...it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever!
Yes, they have names, but why not make it so after I kill them, when the 30 day "respawn" occurs, just rename them as "Imperial officer" or "stormcloak officer'
Oh, by the way, I also found that when you're with the Dark Brotherhood and sent to kill the pirate captain in Solitude, only the captain is killable...everyone else is strangely essential. I think they also should be killable, as why should an assassin leave them alive after offing their captain? They'd only get a new captain and you'd be right back to where you were started.
And just before I forget, why haven't they fixed the Louis Letrush problem? I now have around 8 Letrush's waiting outside whiterun, and all of them are essential, so I can't get rid of them.
