Library at the College of Winterhold.

I've got a very quick question about the College of Winterhold library. When we become the Arch Mage will we be able to access the book cases that are in the library and can we take books and put them back in safely? I recently visited the College of Winterhold for the first time and when I saw the library I could not believe it. I know it probably sounds silly but I've always wanted a library like this. A place that could hold every single book in the entire game. With the cases that open up the inventory (as opposed to putting books on shelves) this would definitely be possible. But right now when I highlight a book case it give me red text, and I cannot access it unless I want to break the law/get in trouble with the College. Again, when you become the Arch Mage do you have full reign over the library to do as you please with it?

Dang! That svcks. This is EXACTLY what I've always asked for in my house. A huge library that could store all the books.

I play on both the PC and PS3. My arm is hurting badly from Skyrim on PC, so I'm out of commission when it comes to PC gaming. Same thing happened with Morrowind. My body is weak... I was clicking like crazy from 4 PM to the minute The Boondocks came on on advlt Swim. Or was that Deadman Wonderland. I was playing too long, and now I suffer.

Never use the mod that gives you a part of Elsweyr and do the quests at a low level. Arm pain may happen... I tgm'd that stuff... Why does it seem like every PC version of a TES game makes an arm or two hurt because I play them too much when I first get them? I do this with every new game or version of a game I wanted. Console games don't kill my arms as much as PC ones do. I use a laptop and don't use an external mouse, so yeah...

Answered your own question with this statement. I assume you aren't playing with the laptop elevated (on a desk or table) with something to rest your (keyboard arm) wrist on. Might I suggest investing in an Xbox controller? They're cheap and wired ones come with a usb plug so you can plug and play.

You can also get an adaptor for wireless controllers too. I got one so I could play Tomb Raider Anniversary with my Xbox controller...since keyboard/mouse set up was a bit too complicated for my platforming capabilities. xD

I actually quite like the keyboard and mouse set-up more. I would just get my PS3 controller PC ready, but I don't mind getting used to not using a controller. Besides, hunting elk is easier with a mouse.

I like the K/M set-up as well for most games, but during marathon sessions it can still strain my arm, even with a gaming keyboard and arm rest. I break out the controller when that happens.

My Arch-Mage Braggen got so frustrated that Urag would not sell him a book he had sold the other day before there was an unfortunate reversal of time effect,(I forgot to save) he threw a temper tantrum. Brought up all the available spares and stole all the books out of the 7 unlocked book cases. Urag will be getting no more books till he turns up the one Braggen wants and knows he has. The one he knows about and does not know if Urag has would be nice as well. Braggen is just staying away for 30 odd days to see what turns up.

If it makes you feel any better Gagnon39, the book cases all have more or less the same contents and nothing all that rare.
