So I got to thinking, what if in the future our Solar System is like a vacation spot for other races in our galaxy (Yes I believe that other life forms of intelligence live in this universe). Similar to how we go to other countries, or states (if your from U.S.A.) for enjoyment.

Say a Reticulan (yes a Grey) comes to our planet, with his bags...or whatever they use to cary things, and sits at a hotel and goes
"Man your oceans are sweet" and one of use (humans) could show him around the particular place, and explain plants to the being, and explain our weather patterns to him/her. Not that we will all be scientists in the future, but we will know basic things like we do now (I hope) Imagine explaining what a fly is to a being from a planet that doesn't have a corresponding life form for it.
"What is this creature?"
"Oh that's a fly, annoying little [censored]ers"
"What do they do?"
"Decomposers, they eat dead bodies, or rotting things"
"That is quite efficient"

To be honest, I think if that future were to happen, Humans would develop a sense of Planetism (like Nationalism, but for a whole planet) And though it would be scary to think about now, if all of earth became one government, and there were no American's, or Mexicans..etc, just Earthlings?

The aliens (I hate using that word) would not always be humanoid to be sure! Some could probably have a more insect like shape, or maybe even similar to the Turians from Mass Effect universe?

What do you think? Could this be a possibility? Would you want it to happen?

How crappy would their home planets have to be before they come to ours? I mean we have some cool things, but we as a species can't even get along with each other. Why would aliens want to visit that? Unless we are a giant reality tv show for the rest of the galaxy.

But yeah, if it happened, I'd be thrilled. I love traveling, so I'd definitely visit their planets as well. I like the idea of a unified human race as well.

Yeah, I suppose that could be a possibility in the future. There's also the Zoo hypothesis as a possibility for why aliens might visit Earth.

I think more realistically, Earth is probably no more or less exceptional than other planets that have life on it. It's probably interesting and unique in its own way, but there are probably better planets to go on vacation to. If it did happen, it probably wouldn't be until there was open contact among several species of beings and we were all, for the most part, comfortable with them and vice versa.

So if we discovered intelligent life on another planet, you wouldn't want to visit them or make contact with them or anything if they happen to still have wars and things like that? That's crazy. Plus, there's more here to see on this planet than just humans.

who's to say that's not happening already? anything is possible, including a "men in black" type of situation where aliens are disguised amongst us. I believe that if an alien race is capable of such technology as to visit our solar system from other galaxies then they definitely could possess technology to cloak themselves in human form.

I just hope visitors won't get a cold or something, which turns out to be fatal for them. And as the unlucky alien returns to his own people and spread the sickness they'll be accusing us of biological warfare and we'll be labeled as hostile war-loving insignificant beings by other intelligent creatures (oh noes).

And that's the end of a bad scenario.
