WTF a little help here before i go NUTS!

Post » Sun Sep 23, 2012 12:22 pm

i havent played skyrim for about 6 months when i feel it is time to start playing again, so i instal steam (which i freaking hate so much!!!!!) and instal the game (got the dvd kind) and start playing but immediately i notice that i got these mini lags like walking on oneven terran all the time, little "jumps" or small lag spikes but the rest seems to be working fine so i figure i will trye and see if the high res package dlc would help so i download that and instal it,
The armor in the game turns into light blue shapes so i figure i made a big BUBU and uninstal the game and then reinstal it,
But now i cant get past the intro every time it comes to the part where the thief in the wagon should speak, Skyrim shuts down and i am back looking at my desktop,
I trye this a few times but it stil Whont work so i uninstal the game and delete all the skyrim folders i can find and then clean my harddrive, I reinstal the game but yet again SAME PROBLEM,
i then trye and use the tech surport and even seach this forum NOTHING,NADA.

Now i am not like most ppl here who can fix, patch, find and deletet certain files to fix the game cause i live in denmark so my windows is not 100% like yours.

WTF should i do so i can Play the freaking game i PAID for!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sounds like something in the system is not playing nice with Skyrim. First things first, ensure you have your graphics drivers, audio drivers and any motherboard drivers bang up to date with the most newest versions available. Ensure all is good with the game instalation by using the steam option to "verify intergrity of game cache". That will check the game files for eronous data that may be due to a bad disc/dodgey download etc. Then shutdown every non-essential program, do this by performing a "clean boot" procedure (google for a guide). Make sure Steam and the game is installed to a seperate "games" folder outside of program files (ie C\My Games\Steam). Check your DEP and account settings to make sure the game is set to allow and you are running it "as an admin".

If these steps dont work, you may be having a hardware fault. In this case, check your HDD for errors using the disc drive's properties panel. Also perform a test on your ram by running Memtest (free app, download it) to check for any faults in the system memory.

Best of luck.

First off thx m8 for ur help :o)

nr 1 i dont understand "why" i am suddenly having trouble with my skyrim i never use to have any, all i needed was to instal and play, must be a resent patch thats F..... up my game.

nr 2 my graphics, motherboard and audio drivers r always up to date.

nr 3 after i wrote this request i found the verify intergrity game cache and the defragment cache files and did them both, startet up the game but stil same problem.

nr 4 i run steam in offline mode "cause i hate it like hell" and i do shut down all non-essential programs to make sure i have max juice on my pc for the game, cause steam takes alot of power from my pc.

nr 5 i dont know how to instal the game to a diffrent folder outside its program file and i dont know what a "DEP" is, it should run as a admin.

If you are using an Nvidia gpu with the newest drivers then you may have problems, maybie!

I recently upgraded from a gtx 460 to a gtx 670 and I noticed that the AA + Supersampled AA is handled differently using even the same drivers. My 460 would try to anti-alias everything in Skyrim most notable on loading screens with npc armor. Seems like the newest drivers will cause problems on anything that isn't the newest gpu hardware.

If you are using an Ati card then just ignore me hehe.
