I'm going to buy a PS4 and X-box 720....

Post » Mon Sep 24, 2012 4:01 pm

And take it outside and shoot it  ! I swear by the sounds of it they won't even be worth it IMO--->http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/20-predictions-next-generation-consoles-223710207.html
I like getting used games cause of the price and sometimes I like playing them way more then I do the newer games that comes out. Sorry Sony and Microsoft but I'm sticking to my 360 or PS3 (when I get one again) and you can just keep those next gen systems to yourself.

I will probably get the next gen consoles. Don't waste your time with rumors and speculation, IMO. I'll wait for something solid before I get any inkling as to what I will get. I'm a 360 really devoted fan and dislike the PS3, but I don't have an allegience yet to either faction for the next gen system.

 I'll wait for games I like before I buy a console...unless they try to remove a feature I like in an updated sku in which case I'll buy it at a severe discount

Only next gen system I'm interested in is the Wii U but I probably won't be buying that until sometime next year so I can see what games it will have for it and maybe have a lower price.

I'll be giving it a miss personally. I used to enjoy Xbox 360 but now it's just an advert. I don't want to see adverts. Horrible.

I will probably wait for the http://www.theonion.com/articles/ghost-of-christmas-future-taunts-children-with-vis,14/. It will be a 2,048-bit console featuring a 45-Ghz trinary processor, CineReal graphics booster with 2-gig biotexturing, and an RSP connector for 360-degree online-immersion play.

You should wait and see first OP. I'll be getting the PS4 but not until the slim version comes out.

I'll only get that if it supports the base minimum of 4k resolution

No I will not---if it's graphics I doubt it will no different then one of my best games in 1080P and as for the software, DRM can go to hell, I'm not paying ANY addtional money just play used games---not happening. I'm happy with my 360, I was happy with the PS3 and those units I'll be sticking with.

There already is DRM on most games.
Even now in a lot of games if you buy it used you will have to buy an online pass.

What's wrong with just waiting and seeing how the PS4 and 720 turn out?

There's no DRM in console games, the online pass is for if you want to play what is usually a tacked on multiplayer mode that EA forced the dev's to put in to make some extra money.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge next gen consoles.

Although I generally play on the PC, there are certain games I enjoy playing on console. If the next generation turns out to be quite nice, I might buy it and play the few games I'd want to play on it. Of course that will only happen if the price is reasonable and the games aren't overpriced as hell, as console games tend to be. I'm not going to be in a rush for it though.

I still remember how the first PS3 was like $600. Ridiculous...
I suspect a $70 or $80 price tag for the average game in the near future.

It depends on what you mean by "DRM." Console games are already designed to discourage duplication of the media + content. The only thing they don't do is lock game licenses for physical copies of the media to any kind of personal account...which isn't DRM so much as a side-effect of some kinds of DRM. Console games definitely have DRM by my definition of the term.

Meanwhile the PC master race sits atop th eclouds and laughs because the next generaiton concoles are going to be more resitrcted, more bothersome, and less flexible to use than a PC or tablet or iphone. Anything not a console. I also laugh at their no room for moderate hits things. Again, not a problem on PC.

I suspect that a lot of people who came to PC gaming are not going to go back so easily once they just take some time to adapt. Wii U is the only one I'm getting since it will have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. So all of the other consoles can go and do whatever they want to do. I'll be scrying down atop them from Mount PC Gamicus and wondering at such unusual problems.
