A dream of a vivid RPG

Hi! An excerpt from a Skype conversation with a friend. What do you think?

Copy+Paste is king by the way.

[9:34:27 PM] John: I've had this dream of a Baldur's Gate inspired game
[9:34:34 PM] John: Haldur's Mate, or Fate
[9:34:34 PM] John: xD
[9:34:42 PM] John: Or even a Date
[9:35:07 PM] John: A "parody"*, although true to the DnD genre (with a massive great story), of Baldur's Gate
[9:35:56 PM] John: But instead, when you enter a room with enemies you get to direct (like a movie) how you wish your characters to attack. So you get to see it in action exactly how you want to sneak up behind your enemy and slit his throat
[9:37:31 PM] John: But you see, the catch is that everything is a dice roll, so everything might not turn out like you directed. You merely tell the game "This is what I want to do" and then do a lot of saving throws, rolls and checks along the way. When you press "Action" it might turn out completely different, your enemy notices you, catches your hand and you are in a struggle instead. You press pause. Direct a new outcome a new way, perhaps an escape out of the combat to a safer area, or have your Barbarian run in and knock the enemy off your Thief
[9:39:53 PM] John: One thing I've dreamt about ever since Dragon Age Origins is a game where swords do not simply go through your enemies, but they clash, parry, block and the animations are more realistic to a real struggle. Where battles are determined by your characters skill and wits, specially the environment you are in, and not merely by their stats. Where enemies are in fact real and powerful, and one banana peel on the ground away from taking you down.
[9:41:35 PM] John: The randomness, that's what I'm missing in games today. Demon Souls and Dark Souls are hinting towards what I am looking for, but I am looking into it from a perspective of a Black Isle RPG type of deal. Hmm I should send them an e-mail xD

* Only the title is a parody, for now. Work in progress idea concept.

Have a great wonderful day :)
Hugs, sincerely.. John
