I am a longtime loyal PS3 gamer and avid Elder Scrolls fan. I only play TES games and football games. I have been very patient in waiting for Dawnguard and Hearthfire, but there appears no relief in sight. I am on the verge of selling my PS3 and breaking down and swithing to the darkside. Please either talk me off the ledge or inspire me to jump.

If you can switch to the PC instead.

There is no good reason to switch to Xbox360 as I see it now. The current consoles are at their end of lifetime, they are falling behind in power and new are bound to come sooner or later. If you should buy anything now I would suggest a PC rather then console due to PC being the superior platform in power. Also with PC you get the chance to playa round with mods abd other fun things.

Just remember that new consoles are coming out in a year. If you are still going for it, I'd say, between xbox and PS3, go for xbox. It not only gets the dlc but gets it 30 days ahead of the ps3 and pc. Of all three options though i'd say get a PC if you can get a good one. You have to wait the 30 days for the dlc but you get mods and console commands and can use either the mouse/keyboard or a console controller if you like those better.

Considering that the DLC exclusivity period should be over with Hearthfire I would be very suprised if DLC was released 30 days early for xbox in the future. The nect DLC should be coming to xbox and PC at the same time as far as I know.
