Hud adjustment possible?

Post » Fri Sep 28, 2012 6:12 am

I'm currently playing dead is dead with no HUD as an archer. I have no need for the compass, magic/health/stamina bars or cross hairs. Although, It would be very nice to at least have an item/object description pop up if your "hidden cross hairs" are targeting something. I don't see this taking away from the immersion... If anything, it would add to it due to the silly actions we make b/c of guessing where we are targeting. Gets very annoying when I have to refer to my map to see if i'm at the correct residence, I pick up a plate instead of a soul gem, and loot the same bodies/chests multiple times... Just a couple examples.

If you're on PC, there's Immersive HUD on Nexus. If not... Well, all we can do is hope that Bethesda will take notice and fix it in the next game.

Unless you can turn on parts of the HUD, it is either all on or all off. I don't even think we can turn off parts on the PC, just all of it. Pretty sure the console is the same way.

yeah, im aware of this. Maybe I was little confusing the way I laid it out there. Just curious if maybe Bethesda would look into this issue in the future.

I too would like a HUD where I could pick and choose what is displayed. HUD mods are some of the most popular mods on the PC.

Hopefully Bethesda will offer the ability to turn off parts of the HUD at least on their next game, if not as patch for this one.

I don't disagree with this, but there's a problem: the 360 controller and the Look Sensitivity setting are bitter enemies and do not play well together. Anyone will tell you the PC version is better when it comes to movement.

The only way this can be done is a mechanic which allows for a dual-setting: armed and unarmed Look Sensitivity settings. Otherwise, all we'll get is the frustration of seeing those "hidden cross hairs" flash while trying to "aim" so they stay put. I get this now, and it's frustrating, and that's because my LS setting is nearly at max.

The way I'm playing now is having the compass brightness dimmed as far as possible, no cross hairs, and dealing with the "overshoot" when looting/searching. TBH, it does get better with more game time. Experience makes for a great teacher.

I also hope this is addressed in the next TES game (because it won't be done in Skyrim).
