You should need however much stamina it costs to do a power

Post » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:34 pm

Not 1 stamina. Same goes for shield bash, I hate the fact that it only takes 1 stamina to do a power attack, i think if you actually needed as much stamina as the cost of the power attack, it would make melee feel like it has more depth, as it is now it feels rather shallow and too easily exploited, if you like doing stuff like that.

I just think that the combat would be much better if this were the case, a small change that would make the world of difference.

anyone else agree?

1 stamina to do a power attack? huh? It takes way more then 1 stamina to do a power attack. Even when I am speced for some stamina saving, I still only get about 3 or 4 power attacks/ shield bashes before my Stamina is depleted.

Besides, there is a mod called Skyrim Redone that makes it so that every swing of your weapons uses up Stamina, and every time you block it uses Stamina. Not a mod that I would use, but it is there.

When the stamina regenerates, with only 1 stamina you can do a power attack so I kind of agree with the topic starter. You can even use vegetable soup to have limitless power attacks since it regenerates 1 stamina per second. I never use it as it is an exploit but it is extremely powerful, especially if your dual wielding or with two-handed.

Also, not everyone has a PC.

He's talking about if you only have 1 stamina left, you can still do a power attack. When it is full, it takes away much more than that, but you can still perform one regardless of how much stamina you have (as long as you have at least 1). So basically, if you eat one of those auto-regenerating stamina foods, you can perform an infinite amount of power attacks until the food's effect wears off.

Agree with OP, it kind of makes meleeing destroy, especially if you have perks dedicated to power attacks.

I have to agree with this. I don't use potions or food for healing or stamina, and I usually pump up my stamina if I'm using a character that uses those attacks.

I'd suggest a little self control. If you don't like being able to make a power attack with nothing left in your stamina bar, then don't do it. Wait until the bar has enough in it to power the attack before using it.

These games are designed to sell so everything is made to be easy to use or exploit. The casual gamer or the power gamer wouldn't buy the thing if it was too hard to use the features.

Maybe if we are polite and respectfully ask for these things to be added as part of the difficulty slider they might listen and then we'd all be happy.

Personally I'd like to be able to finish the majority of quests without having to add dozens of bodies to my kill counter.

This being added to the difficulty slider would be wonderful. Good idea.

I don't think it would really affect much if it was implemented from the beginning, it would be similar to how magic/magicka works, and I think the game would be better for it. I don't think anyone would be complaining if it was like this from the start.

It would give Stamina more meaning, as well as things that restore stamina such as potions, as is I never use stamina potions unless im in a tight spot and need to run away, I dunno, i just think the game would be better with it.

I know some people like to have those warriors that put points into nothing but health, 100 magicka, 100 stamina and then all health, and I hate that. I respect that they can play the game how they like, and wouldn't have it any other way. But i can't stand it, a warrior with no stamina? pfft its like a mage with no magicka! and people do that too! Personally I think having a huge stamina bar is awesome for warriors, being able to spring long distances and deal out power attack after power attack. Having to have the minimum stamina for the attack would make it more important, and though you can still have those warriors with 100 stamina and all health, they wouldn't have it quite as easy, they would just be a tank rather than a true warrior.

With the current system, the Redguard Greater Power is kinda trivialized by vegetable soup. How sad.
