Do you think someone should make a multiplayer mod for Disho

Hey. I am new to these forums, so don't be surprised if someone has already started a topic about this.
I know dishonored is a single player game, and that it will be a very good one, but I can also think of many ways that
multiplayer could be added to this game.
For Example: a team of about 5 people get the powers that corvo has (I will call them team A), and a team of 10 to 15 other players have guns (I will call them team B )
So team B need to protect a certain object, I am not sure what it will be yet, and you guessed right, Team A need to get hold of this object.
Doesn't seem so complicated right? Of course there are many other game modes I can think of.

So what do you think? Should someone make a multiplayer mod?

I've always liked the idea of a stealth-centric multiplayer game. Unfortunately there's not really a lot of games that do it, or do it well. I'm not a huge Assassin's Creed fan, but I do really like the unique approach they took with multiplayer.

I don't know about the likelihood of a multiplayer mod, but if the game winds up being a commercial success, maybe it's something that will be looked into by Arkane in the future.

So far we don't have any official confirmation that the team will be putting out mod tools, only that they might in the near future.

No matter how good the Assassin's Creed multiplayer is (and it is very very good), I personally don't want a game that is so heavily focused on narrative to have a multiplayer mode without context. AC's MP has context as well and gives a reason for the battles connected with the game's lore and real history. It won't be hard to accomplish that with Dishonored's rich lore.

There is another problem though, the balancing. Naturally the game should be open to customization in order for you to choose abilities, maybe enhancements and bone charms and gadgets. You need to make sure that each equipment has a balanced amount and the choice for which equipment to choose is very difficult to make. Every piece of equipment and spell should have a weakness in some situation and a strength in others, that makes the choice all the more difficult and character building a more personal experience.

The next issues is the game modes. A Wanted mode like in the AC MP won't work. That requires a lot more observation (and third person actually works for that game mode) and is grounded to the streets. If Dishonored would like to stick to the narrative, it needs to keep NPCs really scattered and make the player traverse the environments. Some sort of an investigation mode maybe, or perhaps similar to the upcoming Hitman: Absolution's Contracts Mode.

All and all there is room to work with the concept, but it will be difficult to make it actually good, enjoyable, competitive, balanced and with a lot of replay value. See what mods have done for Thief 2, they created great missions and offered the fans of the series a ton of enjoyable experiences focused solely around Single Player. Thief has the same potential for a multiplayer game, but most people focus on crafting a great single player experiences with less effort and giving other fans more content for their favorite game. That's the direction that Dishonored needs to take.

Thank you for your opinion. I agree that the assasin creed really takes an interesting approach in stealth multiplayer, although I think the multiplayer option that we are talking about now will be quite different. :)

I agree that it will be difficult to make it all balanced and fun, and I am actually a fan of single player more than multiplayer. thanks a lot for your interesting perspective on this.
