Jeans....some help please...

Post » Sat Sep 29, 2012 11:24 pm

Ok, I haven't bought jeans in a while. Why you ask? Well for a while I was buying the Walmart specials because they were cheap. But therein lies the problem. They are cheap. Within a week these cheap POS jeans begin falling apart. Also, it's quite difficult to find jeans in my size. I have a unique body type.

Very long legs, short torso and somewhat...over weight.

Currently, I'm wearing a pair of Levi's Carpenter Jeans. 42x33. Let's just say...they are less than comfortable. Legs are tight, waist is tight but where the belt goes is loose. Putting things in the pockets would make the jeans so unbearable to wear I'd have to take them off. And my package? Crushed. This svcks.

To demonstrate how uncomfortable I ma right now I've undone the button to give me some room.

The other issue is clothes now are "cut" weird. I don't know who they manufacture clothes for anymore.

Now, here is where BGSF can help.

Where can I buy jeans online with a very specific set of search guidelines.

I like my jeans baggy, but not too baggy where I look like a hobo. But baggy enough to where I can move. Right now, my thighs are kind of squished and the jeans are bunched up around my nether regions. If I pull the legs down my ass hangs out. But down by my boots, well, it looks like I've got bell bottoms on.

I'd need 44x32 (33). But like I said, jeans are cut weird. I may not even fit in them. They may be too big.

So, I need help. How do I actually find out what size I am? When I go to the store I try on dozens of pants and nothing seems to fit properly and I'm always uncomfortable. I always end up "settling" on a pair but I'm never really happy. Before you say, go to the "Big & Tall" store, I have. Their clothes are too big. So, I'm in between a fat tall person and a skinny tall person. Yes, I'm tall. But my body type is well...stupid.

Oh, as for price...I can't spend any more than say...$30 on a pair of jeans.

I kind of discuss your situation. Pants these days are made quite crazily.

I get what you mean, they are very tight at the thigh, loose at the hip. I have a similar issue but my body type is sort of an inverse to yours. I am not overweight, if anything underweight. I don't have long legs or a short torso, actually quite average looking. Most of my pants either are too baggy for my taste, or too tight to be wearable. It annoys me to know end to see pants that fit, but don't really "fit". It seems as though pants have a bit of a bell-bottom design on the thigh. Tight at the top, loose at the bottom. It's ridiculous!

You want to spend... under $30 and have jeans with a good fit for a body type that it's difficult to find clothing for? Are you... delusional?

Edit: you won't find any long lasting brands for under $30 unless they are on a good sale.

I generally go with Levi's; they seem to last a long time. I wonder if Carhart would be pretty tough.

As for buying online, be sure they have a free return policy - including shipping. I've found great varience in fit within a company's same size and style.

Finding good jeans over here is super easy in pretty much any store, no matter what body type you are, as long as you're willing to spend at least € 50,- on them.

If you can find a Levis outlet store, check it out. The prices will generally be quite a bit lower than in a regular store, and while the selection might not be as good, they'll still have most of the cuts.

Just grab a pair in every cut and try them all on until you find on that works. Levis have a decent range of cuts and they're well enough made that they'll last a few years.

I might be. I mean I can go either way on price but generally $30 is pretty much What I can afford.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Keep 'em coming. :)
