Skyrim on PC > Skyrim on xbox

Post » Tue Oct 02, 2012 6:13 am

I'll start off by saying i have Skyrim on xbox, not PC but i really do envy people who have the amazing mods and so on. Don't get me wrong Skyrim is a great game on all consoles but PC seems to outdo them all effortlessly.
I plan to buy a gaming computer for Christmas my first duty will be to buy Skyrim and download some awesome mods. It seems to be people with Skyrim on the PC clock many more hours due to all the game changing mods.
Anyone disagree? Personally i couldn't want Skyrim on PC much more than i already do, but for now i still have fun playing Skyrim on xbox.

I tend to look at it as:"doesn't matter what type plate you eat your food on, just enjoy the food." Take it as will.

Hmm i suppose so but then you could view the xbox as a plate with just chicken and the PC with a plate with chicken and many many sides. It really comes down to Personal choice i just think that the mods look really good and game changing. :)

There are a handful of mods I would get for skyrim, moonpath to elsewyr, tales of lycanthropy, Better vampires to name a few. But that's about it. I'm not really envious of a lot of mods PC users have. That's just me though.

 For me the 360 is superior. I'm more used to console gaming and prefer it, and mods don't mean a thing to me the vanilla version is enough as it is.

Don't get me wrong, I want to play Skyrim and the other TES games on PC. I just don't have the funds for a gaming rig right now.

I'd say, on a random statistic, 99% of TES fans think that the game is "better" on the PC. However, this doesn't mean at all that the console versions are bad, they just lack mod support and fancier graphics.
There's also the cost of the PC to consider.
And mouse + keyboard versus controller is an entirely different argument...

Yeah ive always been a console gamer but its the mods really. They just really appeal to me. When i complete the MQ and go as far as i can possibly go until i get bored the mods can keep me going for ages i suppose this is why i believe PC is kind of better. As i said it does come down to personal preference. :)

Nah, it's fine. It's just that a lot of things have been discussed endless times before (examples are PC vs. consoles, Stormcloaks vs. Imperials, Man vs. Mer, etc).

I've only been on these forums for a short time and I've noticed the amount of Stormcloak vs Imerial related threads so i understand where you're coming from. :)

For me Skyrim was excellent on the PS3, but with the lack of official DLC's coming I switched to the 360 version. Which is even better than I thought it would be (not a 360 fan), but I could never see myself playing it on the PC. I'm not a PC gamer, at all. PC gaming just doesn't appeal to me, and if it's not an official DLC I couldn't care less about it, so mods have zero appeal to me.

Both sides get kind of touchy about their chosen platforms. You get passionate about stuff you love. That being said the great mods arepart of the whole TES package for me. The ability to use mods to cutomize your game to your own preference is invaluable to me. IN fact, mods have solved so many of my persoanl feeling about what are shortcomings in Skyrim to me is very close to my prefect game. Oblivion was the same and Morrowind . Good in vanilla but incredibly outstanding once the proper tweaks and added material customized it to my personal likes.

I have played skyrim on the pc and enjoyed it...for a week before my cousin put some of the dumbest mods ever on there.

Imagine having mods you could buy for a few hundred MSP. That would actually be amazing!

As a console gamer, with a handful of exceptions, I've been happy with the Vanilla + DLC games that Bethesda has been putting out since Oblivion. I would of course love to get my hands on a gaming PC and run Skyrim and FONV Ultimate on it.

Beyond the mods I'd love to try and build an area using the Creation Kit, which can only be done on the PC platform and maybe even make my on mods. My only fear is that I'd spend way more time "building" than playing, not that I wouldn't enjoy it but building and creating a mod is a totally different activity compared to playing.

This is a fair point. You could always turn Skyrim into a creation game thing haha.

The main ones i will be getting are the Motion Picture ENSB, Witcher 2 Armor's ( I still have a wish that bethesda will port the witcher 2 armors as free DLC but i know thats never gunna happen ) and the Duel Wielding Sheath.

Ugh, entering threads like this always feel like walking through a minefield. PC is the way to go if you aim to improve the game in any way one could imagine, but [and it's a big but] you need the money. I don't have any stats at hand but running the game at ultra settings would require a rig at least twice the cost of the console alone, I guess.

Or the Xbox is a plate that the manufacturer owns the rights to, and restricts you to 2 pr-approved side dishes. While the pc is a plate that you take to a buffet and get whatever you want, chicken, pork, beef, or all sides.

But at the end of the day, it still tastes like chicken ;-)

I've played and moded other PC games (strategy, war simulation) in the past (and spent quite some doing so might I add) but I have to admit I'm enjoying sitting back in the couch with my 42 inch screen TV and playing Skyrim. I guess a few mods would be cool, but I've managed without. I also got the Xbox for free as part of a promotion which helps me enjoy it more

No doubt I'd be spending a lot of time with the CK if I had a PC, which might not necessarily be a good thing, but I digress.
