Have any weird eating habits?

Post » Tue Oct 02, 2012 11:46 pm

My most favorite snack in the world is raw mushrooms.
Anyone I tell just thinks its really weird.

I also love spicy food, but hate the taste of Jalapenos which "isn't possible" says my roommate.

How 'bout you?

Before eating sushi, I like dissecting one of the pieces into its individual components, tasting the rice, fish, and anything else in it on its own. I then eat the rest whole, appreciating how each individual flavor comes together.

My habits aren't weird really, but I check my dishes and silverware to ensure there are no particles left from prior use. I do it every time I eat, if I feel even something like a bump in the dish or a scratch, I won't use it.

I can put sriracha sauce on anything, but that's normal.

If there's a napkin nearby I'll wipe my hands after every bite, even when using utensils. Does that count as an eating habit?

I love pickled in vinegar jalapeno's. Fresh ones are ok for spicing up a stir fry but mostly it's about the pickled ones. Also, the carrot slices that are often pickled with them. I love those jalapeno'd carrots. When I get soft tacos at the local places, I'll often go for those carrots to put on top, rather than the jalapeno's. So, I too like spicy foods, but only certain ones. I don't like chili-powder, as a general rule. Or curry. I can't stand curry.

Raw mushrooms are awesome, but most of the time I still prefer to put them mixed in a salad.

I don't think I have any truly odd eating habits overall. I can be a little picky about mixing my foods, however. Don't like it when the salad mixes with meat juices on the same plate, for example. Don't want tastes mixing. I'll use 2-3 plates to avoid stuff like that. (edit: oh, and I'm also meticulous about putting sandwich filling super-evenly on the bread...whether it's a spread or meat slices. Must be as perfectly even in height and bread coverage as possible).

Your roommate is weird. Jalape?os svck, horrible tasting peppers. Most green peppers taste like crap.

To qualify: Yes, I like peppers AND I like red Jalape?os. I dunno what it is about green peppers, but I just don't like them.

Also: Peanutbutter and ham sandwich

Pan fried spam, eggs, steamed rice. Breakfast of champions.

Also, can't eat most fresh fruit due to oral allergy syndrome. Processed fruit however is ok.

Yes, that's a real thing. My mother doesn't even believe me.
