Tarantulas.

Post » Thu Oct 04, 2012 7:40 am

I am honestly horrified of them. While I am not generally afraid of spiders. Tarantulas, as well as a few others, are the exceptions. Just seeing these abominations from a TV or paper is enough to make me nervous. But I have a question. Suppose you are asleep. and you wake up to see one of them on your face. What would you do?

Throw it away then squish it with a boot.

Gently brush it off, not squish. Do it fast as possible. While gross there are worse spiders to wake up with on your face. Then wash face.

TWO spider threads? Come one! But seriously, I'd do nothing. It'll eventually walk away, tarantulas aren't known for being aggressive. Just hairy. And of course, I'd wash my face afterwards.

Waking up with any spider on my face would be devastating to me. However part of my arachnophobia means that I do a sweep of the room and check my sheets before I go to bed each night, so I hope that will never happen to me.

Can we have this thread locked, and deleted? I hate spiders and the thought of that happening creeps me out, so if it did my heart would be pounding so hard it would shoot out of my body.

Be too groggy to notice, roll over and bury my face in the pillow, crush it all over myself in the process.

Too late I willingly put one on my face. They have these little hooks on the bottom of their legs that made my face itch.

Smack it off then let it go outside. Unless it's a black widow or brown recluse, squashing that dude. Spider don't really bother me as long as they keep a distance :)

Tarantulas are big. You don't squish them. You crush them.

If I awoke to one on my face, it'd be airborne in nanoseconds...

But I'd happily put one on me if I was expecting it  But those erdicating hairs...

Tarantulas are the only spiders that don't bother me still if I woke up and had one on my face I'd be needing a new change of underware.

I would have a very, very, hard time falling asleep again afterwards. Every little twitch or twickle (imagined or real) will set off my paranoia and I would be forced to strip my bed down, change the sheets, spray bug killer stuff under and around my bed, and maybe fall asleep if I'm lucky.

EDIT: Haha, I wrote "twickle" instead of "tickle." I'm not going to change it though, I kind of like it :P

I like it too. It's a nice amalgamation of twitch and tickle. :P
