Need advice within 13 hours! =O [PLS HELP]

Post » Fri Oct 05, 2012 3:50 am

I am completely torn and I need some advice with only 13 hours to make a desicion!

I have Skyrim on the xbox 360 but I drool over some of the mods that are out there for PC. Skyrim is on sale on steam @ 40% off for 13 more hours.

>>>>>>>>>THE QUESTION:<<<<<<<<<<<

SHOULD I BUY IT ON PC IN ADDITION TO MY XBOX COPY?

- I have a mediocre pc. I am on a macbook pro with bootcamp.
- My specs are: geforce 9600gt, 2.66 core2duo

Is it worth the second buy for mods and will it run decent enough on low-med settings for me to enjoy the game? I dont want to pay for Skyrim again if everything is going to be choppy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU IN ADVANCE TO ANY AND ALL HELP! I am a fan of Skyrim and I appreciate any other peoples opinions, no matter which way they lean!!

You will be able to play it on far better quality than on xbox360, however not on max and not the high resolution texture pack.

Thank you for the reply! In your opinion:

Is it worth the $50ish for Skyrim+Dawnguard on Steam for the mods and etc? Keep in mind i have Skyrim and Dawnguard on xbox360.

If you have to switch everything off to get it to run like me, you'll be disappointed.

I'd maybe hold off until it drops further. I'd see the point if you hadn't already forked out cash, but it really isn't going to be $50 worth of improvements. Unless of course, you have more cash than you know what to do with it.

Look on the bright side, there will be even more mods out by the time you do get it.

I'm using a GeForce 9800 GTX+ and a Core 2 Duo 3200MHz, which is, I think, not much better than what you have. Skyrim runs smooth as silk on my computer. It actually runs smoother on my computer than Oblivion does.

I don't use a lot of mods. I've been running about 20 or 30 mods in each game so far. And with the exception of Skyrim Monster Mod most of them are smaller tweaks to gameplay. I experience no stuttering, and few crashes (less than five altogether since November). I'm very pleased with the performance of Skyrim on my system.

But, as they say, your milage may vary.

depends how much cash you have. We all value it differently.

PC will be a better quality and you can plug it into your TV and use an xbox pad easily.

It's up to you if you think it's worth this cash for mods+quality.

Yea, and I guess I am kinda basing some of my desicion on your opinions. I want to know how fun the mods are to you and if you were in my shoes would you fork out roughly $50 for the game and expansion + mods (if you already had the xbox version)? Some of the mods look amazing, fun, and seem to add new life to the game, but you guys know firsthand...

If you think your Macbook will be ok with running it, then by all means, go for it.

I own a PC copy and I don't even have anything capable of running it so I'm probably not the best to listen to.. :bunny:
