Just a thought as I'm sure I read a comment once about a similar situation on Fallout New Vegas.

I have multiple characters that I have created
I've nearly got one of every race. A few days ago I made an Argonian character.
I then went back to my main which is a level 60 something Nord and I am having problems with the game freezing when I try and open doors or chests
