I married Belrand in Solitude. He doesn't own any property. He has a bed at the Winking Skeever. I got a quest back when I married him at level 25 to visit his house and it went into the misc section and I forgot about it. Then later, I ended up killing him. Now I'm level 50 and I can't remarry easily with the AofM because I still have the unfinished quest to visit my spouse's home.... but visiting the Winking Skeever doesn't complete the quest. I don't want to reload, as this would take me back to level 25. Any ideas on how to be able to remarry or did I just screw myself into forever being alone?

You can't remarry, you'l have to reload.
