The Imperial escort could do with other races than Nords but not the Thalmor.
The Thalmor are taking Stormkcloaks and Stormcloak sympathizers, most of whom are Nords, so that part doesn't really need a change.

As a Khajiit I don't care.
As a Nord I'm not a Stormcloak.
As an elf I pretty much help them unless its the Thalmor then I just leave them alone.

Pretty much goes for the rest of my characters. I don't bother with the prisoners. Following Occam's Razor they probably did something wrong in the first place (unless its the Thalmor).

To answer your question, that wouldn't affect my decision to help the prisoners or not. I don't let the Stormcloak POWs (those being escorted by Imperial soldiers) go because I'm a member of the Imperial Legion.

That being said, I have no qualms about cutting down the Thalmor to release a Talos worshiper, even if he's going to join the Stormcloaks and become my enemy.

Overall, I think it makes sense that the prisoners we see are Nords. The Thalmor are only looking for Talos worshippers, and I don't know if the Talos cult extends to Mer and Beast races by a significant margin. Maybe they could also have Redguards, Bretons, and Imperials, but it just being Nords doesn't bother me.

Same with the Stormcloak POWs. I occasionally come across Dunmer saying they're going to go join the Stormcloaks, but I'm pretty sure every Stormcloak I've met in battle was a Nord, so it makes sense that they're the only one's I find being taken prisoner. Aside from player characters, I don't actually recall seeing non-Nords in Stormcloak garb and defending their holdings.

I agree with REL on cutting down the Thalmor.
It would've been interesting to see other races with the Stormcloaks but it makes sense there aren't any.

With the exception of Imperials, it could be difficult. Talos is a god in Skyrim, hence the Thalmor response to the questions "What are you doing" etc. Possibly other races may secretly worship Talos, but it could detract from the plot.

Further, considering the issues involving the Stormcloaks and non-human races, and even Imperials, in some respects, it is highly unlikely that the Legion troops would be escorting a Khajit or Elven Stormcloak prisoner...I will tempt fate here, but theme wise it's more likely to consider seeing Stormcloaks escorting Elven prisoners or 'detainees', but that is possibly pushing the boundaries of what could be acceptable from a sensitivities point of view in an MA15+ rated game.

Since im playing as a khajiit i would definately free a khajiit prisoner from the imperials without a second gues. I cant say the same if i were another race.

Khajiit got caught. Its not this one's problem. If it were a caravan driver I would be asking a question or two but that'd be it.

Imperials, more than likely, take actual prisoners. If it were the Thalmor then I'd probably have qualms with them about it usually ending up with them dying. Then again I doubt the Thalmor would be escorting a Khajiit in the first place.
