I have bought Dishonored from GMG, there are no keys yet. Some posters on the GMG forum (not GMG staff) have suggested that it is because the published decides when each seller is allowed to distribute the keys, and that Bethesda has not sent the keys to GMG or are not allowing them to distribute the keys yet. If this is true can we know why, and when GMG will be allowed to distribute the keys.

Uhm the game is first released at midnight, which might be why it's like that?
However, I believe it's a steamgame, therefore the key could easily be written in now and then you could pre download the game to prep,
so actually it would be weird as you could easily get the key now, and you would still not be able to play the game till it's midnight.. It actually is quite weird honestly.

In the US, the game is releasing at 9 pm. Those who have bought it from steam are already preloading the game. If GMG is allowed to give out the keys I (and other GMG customers) can preload too. This is why we would like the keys now even though the game is only releasing about 20 hours later. Especially for people like me that have slow Internet, preloading is very useful. I also have Tuesday off, so I will be bummed if I have so spend Tuesday downloading it instead of playing it.

Afaik, GMG is a rather inexpensive store? I too bought a key from a low price store and phoned them as to when I could expect to get my key. Their answer was, that they have to wait until retail is released, because they get their keys from those, scan it and send it. Might be the reason, idk...

For the most part, GMG only ever promises to distribute keys by release day, and not necessarily the same hour it releases either. Sometimes they do get and distribute their keys earlier if they can, so there's a chance they could be sent out tomorrow, but it's not really guaranteed or anything. It's kind of unfortunate that us GMG purchasers won't be able to play right when it's released, but then again, we saved 20-25% by buying through them, so I can live with it.

45% for me. (It's 80 on steam, was 60 from GMG but with the 25% off code it was only 45.) Happy to wait, it's still faster than waiting for a cheap copy from the UK to be posted. AU here.

Good news, GMG is sending out keys for pre-loading today!
