I have noticed that the game reveal some rather awkward relationships. Sometimes it's subtle and it feels a bit close to real life.

I have two examples that I think is quite funny.
First example: Mjoll and Aerin in Riften. The backstory here is that Aerin(clearly a couple of years younger than Mjoll), saved Mjoll's life in a dungeon. Mjoll feels she owes Aerin her life and they spend lots of time together. Now it starts to be awkward. They live in the same house(Aerin's house), but they don't seem to have a romantic relationship. Aerin, that whelp is following Mjoll like a dog, and I have seriously thought about getting rid of him. It's possible to marry Mjoll, and living in her house. That means you can live with both Aerin and Mjoll... Clearly when they talk in The bee and barb, Aerin has more than friendly feelings for her, and Mjoll seem to only appreciate the fact that he helped her.

The other relationship is Verner and Anekke Crag-Jumper in Darkwater crossing. They are married. But she is the adventurous type, and always wanted to experience new things and go on adventures. Her miner husband has the most dreary look I have seen. He seem negative, all in all a [censored].
My satisfaction was therefore great when I after building my new house(Heartfire), could hire her as a steward and drag her away from her boring and gloomy husband. A most satisfying moment.

Which interesting/strange/funny human relations did you experience in Skyrim?
Funny conversation maybe or the awkward silence with a family at the dinner table?

Amren is a Mercenary-type of guy, and Saffir is a Reader..

Well, is it any wonder when marriage in Skyrim is based on fetching something and wearing an amulet?

Aerin got friendzoned, plain and simple.

Unmid Snow-Shod and Anuriel. The way they talk about their...ahem..."swordsmanship classes" in front of the Jarl, her two sons, the crazy Court Mage and a bunch of Guards is kinda weird. You'd think they would be a little more discreet but...whatever. You know...now that I think about it...Anuriel is probably the reason why Unmid wears Elven Armor. Hmm...

Even if you marry her, she mentions him constantly whenever you visit The Rift with her as a follower. He's obviously on her mind quite a bit, and given the circumstances, it's understandable.

Yeah, no doubt. And look at him. He's so pathetic. He sits there, hoping.. maybe tonight, maybe tonight

You can add those Dovahkiins who are besotted with Serana into the list of dysfunctional relationships. I mean, the woman doesn't want to marry, end of the story. I just don't get all this mod requests to make her marriageable.

on the positive side, Vigdis and Rogatus at the Salvius farm near markarth are a great old couple. She still loves him despite him being cranky. I always stop by on my way to the city. I recommend visiting them..

I'd rather she die and I get to do the whole thing solo.

It's the duality of Skyrim, and it's every where... Nazeem and Ahlam, Vilkas and Farkas, Proventus and Adrianne Avenicci, Balgruf and his children, Battle-Borns and Grey-Manes, the ambiguous two-sided, with two faces on each side, story between Saadia and the Alik'r, werewolves, and so forth, and that's JUST in Whiterun. There's too much of it to be coincidence, too much for it not to be the intended overall theme.

The "other side" to the werewolves is very obscured. It's not the Silver-Hand, but the various Kynareth related missions spread about. More of a Hircine/Kyne thing.
