Borderlands 2 or Dishonored?

Post » Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:15 am

As the title of this thread implies, I am having quite a bit of difficulty over deciding what game to purchase next. I can only afford one and, after that, it shall be some time before I can get another. So, what do people here think? I loved the Deus Ex franchise, so Dishonored naturally appeals to me. However, the length of the game seems to be of some concern and Borderlands 2 is now available for slightly less than Dishonored since it is older. But, as I don't have any friends to play the games with, I am also unsure how much Borderlands 2 will be either solo or with strangers?

Only if you rush. If you play "properly" (as in explore, do side stuff etc ) it's about 16 + hours, and then add to that a couple of different playthroughs.

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering because I heard people stating that it was beatable within around 4-8 hours, which is a little on the short side for a £45 GBP game. However, you are right in that these people are rushing. If by exploring and reading all the texts it lasts around 16 hours, then it is worth my money. Plus, I really would like to support an original IP because we do need them.

I certainly don't plan on rushing, but still can't decide. Dishonored looks awesome though! Ideally, I'd get both - just can't. What is Borderlands 2 like for solo or strangers?
It's good solo, but if you have friends who want it, I'd hold out on getting it for a bit until they do.

However, I find it's a complete cluster [censored] with strangers.

I recently purchased both games, and I'd have to say that I'm enjoying Dishonored a lot more so far. Borderlands is a lot of fun with friends, but Dishonored seems to be overall a much more fun game (to me at least, I love stealth games). Borderlands 2 is just more Borderlands, nothing really new.

Well, I love co-operative online games such as Dead Island and Borderlands, but can never find people to play them with. My friends are either PC gamers (not Xbox 360), WoW addicts or not interested in gaming at all...

I'll probably pick Dishonored and hold off until I can get Borderlands 2 cheap. Hopefully, by then, I can convince a friend to get it or even buy it for them as a Christmas present.

From what I've heard loot in Borderlands 2 is shared (so who grabs something first gets it) and that doesn't sound like it would be fun with strangers.
