[WIPz] Auto Health, Magicka, Stamina and Perks

Post » Sat Oct 13, 2012 9:56 am

This mod will increase your Health, Magicka and Stamina automatically, in relation to which skills you use. The ratio at which each skill increase each Actor Value can be changed in game.

This will also (optionally) work for perks, though only vanilla perks.

So would your health, stamina, and magicka still only increase at level up or dynamically while you play?

Will it be 10 points increase in one attribute according to whatever skills you use the most or a split percentage distributed to the attributes according to how you use them?

Example with assumptions:

I am a Ranger. Archery(health) increases 5 times, one-handed(health) 1, Light armor(stamina) 3, Restoration(magicka) 1

So on level up health increases 6, stamina 3, magicka 1

I can see it will be tricky deciding which skill affects each attribute while maintaining balance with lesser used skills or different playstyles.

My suggestions:

Health
Archery
One-handed
Two-handed
Alchemy
Speech
Pickpocket

Stamina
Block
Smithing
L. Armor
H. Armor
Sneak
Lockpicking

Magicka
Alteration
Conjuration
Destruction
Illusion
Restoration
Enchanting

The way I've got it set up you gain either health, stamina or magicka every time you level up a skill. One skill can also increase more than one attribute too (user configurable).

So you could have One-Handed providing two points of health and one point of stamina per level if you like.

Those suggestions seem good, and were along the lines I was thinking.

Very cool. Will be following this.

This can also be applied to perks, but I'm not sure if there's already one out there that does it?
Auto Perk Stats Level (mods/3198) is the one I used to use which does do perks, could be worth checking out.
You can disable each part as you like and it is very configurable, the .ini might give you some ideas for your own implimentation.
My only real issue with it as an auto HMS mod was that I failed to find a good config balance for using Elys Uncapper and keeping it viable at low levels.

I think you should pick values that ensure you are viable at lower levels and not worry too much about whether that makes characters stronger at a theoretical level 100, as by that point balance is self imposed anyway.
I'm assuming this will be dynamic as the skills change?

Can you use floating point values for this?
eg. if a magicka skill could give .3 health and .7 magicka, block might want to give .5 each to health and stamina, archery .7 stamina .3 health, etc.

Edit: The example numbers being ratios rather than actual values as I think they would need to be quite a lot lower.
Edit2: Or higher, therein lies the balance :)

That mod uses Script Dragon, and this one won't. I'll add in an option for that then.

But yes floating values will work. I'll be creating a SkyProc patcher so you can customise how each skill affects each attribute. This will be much faster for me than creating an in game menu.

Just a small update, the auto health, magicka and stamina is working, just finishing up the patcher so you can change your values easier. It's possible to do in the game using the console, but with 54 Globals to change it could be somewhat laborious.

I'm certainly up for testing it.
Any chance of SkyRe support out of the box?

Brilliant! That would work wonderfully for me because many of the the physical skills (1h, 2h and archery for ex.) would use a mixture of strength and stamina. Strength to give the desired impact of the weapon or to pull the string and stamina to continue swinging the weapon or to continue holding the string back as you take aim. I will be watching this mod and cant wait to use it.

How will it work Elys' http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1175? Which allows you to configure how much health/magicka/stamina you are awarded in each level range.
