She's betrothed to Aela and wants out

Post » Sat Oct 13, 2012 11:20 am

No sooner she gets that Amulet of Mara my female Nord starts experimenting with it. I don't know what she was thinking but now apparently, Tyrae is destined to marry Aela The Huntress. Our Dragonborn actually wants a mixed marriage, not a same six union, especially not to a werewolf. Unfortunately, Tyrae is forever after viewed as being promised to Aela.

Is there some way to get out of this mess? Is there a PC console trick? I don't know why but Aela has been avoiding talking to Tyrae about this. Last time they pvssyd there wasn't a talk option on the topic — only radiant quests and follower talk. (Tyrae is no longer a werewolf but is a vampire lord.)

It sounds like you haven't actually married her yet, so there are a few solutions:
1. Arrange the wedding, and then fail to show up.
2. At the wedding, refuse to say "I do".

As long as you haven't actually gone through with the wedding, you'll be fine.
I even think you can just not arrange the wedding. Try and see if you can propose to someone else (save first!).

If you have married her, you're screwed. Killing her won't help - you can't remarry (unless you're on PC and use console commands).

yeah. this should work. fail by not showing up and then tell her you changed her mind. Or say "no" at the alter.

Either way saying "NO" to Aela is a dangerious thing... watch your back ;)

Once one is engaged to an NPC, there are no further marriage chat options with any other NPCs. So Tyrae is screwed unless the wedding can be dodged or she says, "I don't". Thanks for that tip. So yeppers, she'll arrange the wedding and opt out by not showing up.

Oh and if Aela gets aggro, even violent, Tyrae can smash her any day. lulz. Geez that could be quite a cat fight. It would be sad though if Tyrae's disposition with Aela ends up being permanently damaged. There might be some good RP in this.

I've been able to get engaged to other people even after having accepted someone's proposal (and the ex-fiances just act like nothing's happened!), as long as i hadn't arranged the wedding. Maybe talk to more people?
