Please don't be another typical MMO!

TESO needs to be a completely new type of MMO, not the typical grind, mash and wait type. Most MMOs have clutter all over the screen and name tags everywhere. What TESO needs is a nice looking HUD which won't scare players away. To be a unique and fun MMO it would need to ignore all the 'necessities', such as set classes and choices you can't take back. It should run like Skyrim - Your 'class' depends on the way you play, not the way you play depends on your class. PvP should have different types - social, factions etc. You should be able to challenge people to brawls to settle disputes, or even a fight to the death if you are of opposing factions (or you just really don't like each other). Gameplay shouldn't all revolve on who stayed up longer clicking on bandits - it should revolve around how good you are at aiming, strategising and combat tricks - not all game related skills that you aquire from playing, but things you have in real life, such as reflexes and thinking skills. This should set players apart in that just because your 'level' is higher doesn't mean you are a better player than them. Also, I think factions and forced alliances are a very bad cliche among MMOs. If you choose a particular race, you MUST be in alliance with their faction, and fight for them. You won't be able to do things with your friends who decided they want to be a race in another faction. Players on opposing factions are forced to despise each other causing fights and disputes, and when you get down to it a game is just about entertainment, and fun. Although some people might find arguing and fighting 'fun'.

TESO should start from the ground up, completely ignoring what every other MMO is doing. But the development is already underway, so I can only hope.

While I happen to agree with a lot of this, prepare to be welcomed to this forum with a large amount of fire. As far as we know, a lot of this is NOT how this game is being developed, but that doesn't mean it's a lost cause entirely, or that you're in the wrong for posting your hopes/dreams, as lofty as they may be.

My personal feeling is that I'm on the fence. I was completely sold on the game when it was first announced (before we knew a thing about it). Then as more info came out the more skeptical I've become. But I'm not totally over it, I still have hope for this game and I will not be buying before I try it myself, but I am still excited about the prospect of exploring Tamriel...even if that means I need two alts to see everything (grumble, grumble).
