Is this possible, and if so, how can i get it to work?

I bought the PC version for obvious reasons (i have a decent computer, why not use it?) but, i prefer a controller input for these styles of games (it's a preference, please don't barrage this thread with snobbery). Yet, i can't seem to get the game to pick up the PS3 controller. Can anyone please help me? is there some way to tell the game you want to use a controller? or is the PS3 pads not supported?

Most newer PC games use XInput which is a newer driver standard for gamepads that has support for more buttons/features/triggers/etc., but older gamepads and the PS3 controller do not support. You need special software like the one I linked to above to be able to use it with newer games.
