How to disable loot flashing?

Post » Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:12 am

Hello,
I've managed to disable the yellow highlighting of objects, but I can't find any option to also disable the silver loot flashing. Does anybody know if there's maybe a config file option for this? Thanks for any help.

There *might* be an INI tweak for it but I haven't found one yet. To be honest you might not want to disable it. Environments in Dishonored are very cluttered and it'd be very difficult to pick out interactive objects in it without that option switched on. Same problem of games being designed with aids like quest markers in mind... once you turn them off, it becomes difficult to play because the developers never thought to create the game with that in mind (cough, Skyrim, cough).

I usually take my time to explore everything, so I don't think I need this aid. It kind of breaks my immersion in the game when all the objects are flashing. It would be great for me if there was an option to disable it.

Yeah...Skyrim was impossible to play without questmarkers...especially since some quests were dynamic, so they couldn't really make voice over that describe the location...but even the static quests didn't have any description of where you need to go...not even a general direction...and the quest markers were always directly spot on your target, even if you were supposed to search for something...would be nice to have a marker for the general area or something like that...I am really glad that I can play Dishonored without the quest markers...was the first thing I turned of and never needed to enable it to find my way to the target...
