Transferring a "Skyrim" saved game to a new computer

Post » Sun Oct 14, 2012 8:58 am

Hello there,

I am going to be visiting my aunts and cousins over the next few months. I was planning on continuing to play Skyrim as and when I get a chance. I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer a saved game from my current computer over to another computer and back and whenever else I need to?

I do have a 32GB flash drive/USB.

If it is possible, would someone please explain to me the steps to go about doing it? Thank you greatly.

First off, make sure that the computer you will be using can run Skyrim. Then, download Steam onto it, sign-in, and Steam will automatically download Skyrim.

As for saves, it's a little different. Not sure with Vista/Win 7, but saves for Skyrim are located in the

[Hard Drive, usually C]:\Documents and Settings\[Computer Name]\My Documents\My Games folder.

Copy the Skyrim Folder onto your Flash Drive and then put the folder into that directory on the new computer. If there is no "My Games" folder, you'll have to make one.
