I'm guessing there's no way to unadopt?

Just slightly bothers me that I had two characters adopt the same child because I hadn't figured out how to adopt from the orphanage at the time.

I haven't got that expansion, but I believe there will be attacks on your household and if your undesired doesn't happen to survive ..... ?
