Interesting location - Map marker but unobtainable

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 9:23 pm

So I came across this map marker awhile back but couldn't get to it. I used the ''tcl'' command and I still couldn't reach it. After trying to look it up with a full size detailed map the location wasn't even represented. Maybe future DLC location?

The arrow is the location marker on the map.

Here is the map I used.

Any ideas?

I've never even laid my eyes upon that unpolygonal shape in all of my hundreds of hours. What sorcery is this...

Maybe a small curious addition with any mods you have?

Maybe it's part of the arena they cut out? That would be nice

Did you get the new update? something that was perhaps added by the update? I've never seen that before. Could potentially be the departing point for a new DLC though

This was actually back in May I believe, I didn't really use many mods then because I was playing my first play through on PC after moving from 360. I even took a look at mods that would possibly add locations and I couldn't come up with anything.

Not sure WHAT I'm looking at.
COULD be the cut Arena. Looks suitable.

Maybe it has something to do with the possible new DLC.....this is Eastern on the map and from what I was reading it could bring some sense to it.

Went to the same location, used the tfc command and did not find what the OP is showing. Odd.

Hmmm, I guess I'll disable all mods and see if it's there with a new file.

Maybe... Just maybe it's the the area you are teleported to when you are shoved into Pelagius' mind and shoved into the arena?

Looks like an arena. I'm going with it being the arena Bethesda cut out of the game before the release date.

Looks more like a walled fort/city than a arena unless the arena itself was a town of sorts.

If it was a city/town of the sort the symbol would have been different. It probably wasn't finished so it could've been sectioned off or something, I'm grasping at straws on it but still.

Hmmm, good point. Doesn't that symbol mean a landmark? So it has a story and history to it. Perhaps it is the cut arena.

Possibly. Maybe, putting two and two together, if we follow what Death Toaster said then maybe it was a landmark/'settlement' that served as a cover for the underground arena...

Kind of like how The Thorn was underneath Westside in Fallout: NV. I can see that.

I'm pretty sure I saw the walls of that fortress (or whatever it is) when I was over in that area clearing out Yngol's Barrow. After I left that dungeon I moseyed on over to clear out the bandits from that shipwreck you see on the map pics, and could just barely make out something in the distance up in the mountains. Tried to follow the road east from Eastmarch past Refugees Rest (?) but ran into the invisible wall and the message saying I couldn't go any farther in that direction. Tried to climb up the mountains instead and ran into the same barrier.

Went all the way back to the shipwreck, from which I could just barely see it, and used tcl to fly up as close as I could get but still could not get down into the area as I flew into another invisible barrier.

I was still on v1.5 of the game at the time, just updated to 1.7 and haven't played yet since the update. So it was definitely there as of the 1.5 patch, I just didn't get out to that shipwreck until my last character and didn't see it until then.

That's interesting. What's more interesting though is how this is just getting found out.

Hmmm, maybe I will look again from your location then. Maybe I was looking too fast :P

Wasn't someone on here just telling me the other day that the arena was set to be near Windhelm? So assuming that info was correct, it looks like it's in the right area or vicinity.
