Rats. Where they at?

So ... late in the game, I had really high chaos. I'd killed whenever I'd got in a tight corner, which was often, or when the alternative seemed like too much effort (for a first playthrough). One kill in particular was very notable. I'd killed an enemy that was standing on a rooftop, and I noticed that a minute later, rats were gobbling him up. On the rooftop.

I'm on my stealth/non-violence playthrough now, and I'm in the second assassination mission, and there aren't really many places to put bodies so that they aren't detected. Which is why I've been putting them on rooftops. But every time I do, I've got this worry that rats are going to be feasting as soon as I turn my back.

My question is this: have you ever noticed rats eating bodies on rooftops? And, if so, did you have low chaos or high chaos when you saw this happen? Should I worry or do I not need to worry?

I'm guessing it's not an issue on a low chaos playthrough, but I want to be sure.

I don't really hide bodies on roofs to often, but in my high chaos playthrough rats would frequently just appear out of nowhere if a body was on the floor for too long. Then proceed to hide in a air vent or other such rat hiding places.
I do hide bodies on top of the little guard houses tho, and a couple times rats somehow got up there, but only ever on my high chaos playthrough.

I believe this is only an issue on high chaos, as random appearances of rats would never happen in any of my low chaos playthroughs.

All right, so I should relax. Thanks.

I typically just put bodies on elevated surfaces, but that's mostly as a precaution.... on low chaos, the ONLY time
I've ever seen rats eat up a body was during mission 2 and it was a seedy-looking location so I should have known
better :(

I've never had any rat problems after that at all.

General rule of thumb - if you can summon a rat swarm at that location, it's possible for a systemic rat swarm to appear and gobble the bodies.

Hope that helps. :)
