[IdeaWIP] Fortuna Maleficarum

Just made a new account for actually modding and to hopefully put together a small team to collaborate on mods.

Anyway, I've been working on a mod idea, creating fairly extensive lore and background, as well as planning some quests and the like. My idea is as follows:

One day, whilst in Windhelm, the Dragonborn finds there to be a newly docked ship on the waterfront. Upon asking around, you discover the ship is a private Redguard vessel. You make your way aboard the ship and speak with the captain. He tells you of long ago when Tamriel invaded Akavir in the Third Era, year 288; as they were sailing across the vast expanse of sea, the Tamrielic fleet was caught in a massive storm, separating the ships for several days. When the storm had cleared, much of the fleet was missing. The ones left alive continued on with the war, never knowing what had befallen their allies. The Redguard captain's ancestor was aboard one of the missing boats, and he was now determined to find out exactly what happened centuries before. After more talking, the Dragonborn is invited to partake in the adventure.

After days aboard the ship, a storm breaks out, much befitting the description of the storm that had taken the captain's ancestor that had been passed down through the generations. Not long after, the ship is overcome by the storm and the Dragonborn is knocked unconscious. Upon waking, you discover yourself upon a beach, surrounded by a portion of the crew, and pieces of the now destroyed ship. You venture onto the island and discover a civilization rife with hardships and waging war on the aristocracy. Not only this, but you discover there are no mer in this land, and no beast races either. And magic is highly feared, any with the slightest suspicion placed upon them are executed without fair trial. At first glance, it seems as though the aristocracy rules over the poor with an iron will, unfairly governing the entirety of the island. But nothing is what it at first seems. Perhaps there is a higher power at play in this strange land. Why do the aristocrats fear for their safety? For surely it is not just the numerous assassins. Why does everyone stay away from the mountains shrouded in fog?

The Dragonborn must engage in the political tumult and choose a side, for better or worse. There are no choices for good characters or bad characters. Every choice has it's consequences, and the Dragonborn must battle with his or her own morality, ultimately deciding the fate of this island, discovering what happened to the Tamrielic fleet, and finding a way home.
