Flip! What the ZIP! Oh my Glob! My computer chair broke!

Post » Thu Oct 18, 2012 12:02 pm

Yeah, I bet you thought this was about Adventure Time; although I feel bad for the Ice King (Simon) he's crazy.

Anywho, my computer chair broke. I was leaning back playing BF3 and all of a sudden, BAM! and I'm laying on the floor laughing because the back of the chair fell off. It was my father's chair and after he died I assumed the chairs owner. It's probably 15 years old so I got a good run out of it. It was never particularly comfortable but it worked.

So here, I come to you BGSF to ask for help in picking a new computer chair. Cheap would be preferable but I don't want to sacrifice comfort for an el cheapo office chair. So, what do y'all recommend? I do plan on going to the store and sitting in a few chairs but if anyone can make some suggestions I'd appreciate it.

"cheap" is not a budget. Be more specific

Features you're looking for?

Height?

I'm sure Gheart will be happy to give you http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1411803-computer-chair-abomination/ if he still has it.

There's a lot of other recommendations in there, too.

^ Link ninjaed by DEFRON, but my post is more interesting.

I dunno, maybe $200 for a decent chair. I'd like to go lower. I like tall chairs but my desk is short so that's also a factor.

This is my chair as of this moment.

That's probably as cheap as I'd go. As I said in that other thread, I'm a proponent of getting a quality chair. You'll want it to last for a while and your chair is quite a big factor in your health, especially if you sit for decent periods of time.

I giggled, sorry. I would have had a heart attack if my chair did that. Sadly I'm not high brow enough for chairs, use my laptop on bed. I've got a spinney chair but we don't get on. Do you have Ikea there?

I like that chair. I like how the seat slides forward when you lean back. I may need to swing by Ikea to try it out. Thanks for the link.

It's cool. It startled me and I screamed, "What the flip!!" and then my wife looked at me and started laughing which made me laugh and say, "Man, I hate this chair. Oh...oh...it's broken. I NEED. A. NEW. CHAIR!"

How tall are you? I'm off to Office Depot tomorrow to pick up one of these (mainly because I'm 6' 4" and tired of a short cushion chair that makes my legs go to sleep).

I would fix up the old chair with some wooden rods and duct tape. :D
