Well I started to think about all those fellow Skyrimmers who have the game on PS3 (I have it on PC). And then I started to wonder why there's a such big issue with the DLCs when the actual game was able to come on the platform at right time. Could it be coding problems as it has been speculated? I doubt it. Think about it Microsoft paid to Bethaesda a lot of money to get the first two expansions on Xbox before other platforms. After one month of the releases we got them also on PC. But PC isn't a direct rival of Xbox when another console PS3 is. What if Microsoft has made a nonpublic deal with Bethesda that none of the expansions or the two first expansions will never come to PS3? It would be an expensive deal to make but after all it would favor Xbox a lot and will explain why DG and HF are not available for PS3.
Nope. It's purely down to PS3 hardware. More and more games are suffering similar issues with the PS3's low system memory as we approach the end of this generation of consoles. The issue has nothing to do with exclusivity, or behind closed doors deals, it's purely down to the PS3 staggering like a stuttering drunk when its memory gets taxed too far. It's what caused the framerate drops and freezes on PS3 at release. Optimisation has been attempted, but as the DLCs have required that little more system resources the game just can't run to an acceptable FPS on PS3, if the DLC is installed.
Yes, from a visual point of view the PS3 is superior to the Xbox. But while games which Sony have had a direct hand in always perform well, on multiformat products from third party developers the PS3 has ALWAYS tended to have a lower FPS due to it's lower system memory. But as games have gotten bigger, over the last two years in particular, it's now beginning to struggle on more and more products.
There is no conspiracy here. If you want to get it sorted go abnd complain to Sony. It's their hardware at fault.
