So, I've been playing Skyrim on the PS3... and I've been having a horrible problem with my primary companion/housecarl for some time now... it's very aggravating - and now I'm searching here to see if there's anything I can do about it.

So, I have given my Housecarl a really REALLY nice Dwarven bow. I have Dwarven Blacksmithing, and so it's stats have been doubled + the 130% Blacksmithing improvement. It's way beyond any basic legendary statistic.

...but for some asinine reason - he ALWAYS switches to his default hunting bow instead of that Dwarven bow. I can't take that away from him, as it's part of his "hidden inventory". >_<

So, consequently when he switches to that stupid bow - he does barely any damage and takes forever to kill anything (even when using Dwarven Centurion arrows).

Is there ANY way I can get him to use that crafted bow instead of his default hunting bow? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

PS. I'm a PS3 player, so PLEASE don't tell me to use some kind of goofy command line that I can't use.

Follower Bow/Arrow Usage: Followers who have the archery skill and come with a starter set bow and arrows will use a single better arrow indefinitely, without using it up, as long as they are still using their standard bow. Their misses and kills still show up on the ground and in the loot window and can be picked up. The single arrow may eventually disappear after an unspecified number of shots.

• Followers using a bow that has been given to them (either an upgrade or one given to a follower that does not normally carry one) will consume arrows at a normal rate.
  
• Archer followers will only use a bow and arrow combination where the base bow damage (before upgrading with with smithing or enchanting) plus arrow damage falls within the range of 15-22. Otherwise they revert to their starter bow and/or iron arrows when in battle.
  
• With the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dawnguard plugin followers will use upgraded bows of higher quality such as crossbows and dragonbone bows with higher level bolts/arrows.
