To try something different I want to play a female dragonbor

Is it silly that I have a hard time playing a female character as a male? I like the idea of a dragonborn female - a female sword and board warrior with divine given strength. I have a hard time keeping a female character though. What do you guys (and girls) think?

Maybe, if you're not used to put yourself in other people's heads, so to speach, then it might feel odd to play a character of the opposite six. How much work have you put into her backstory, personality and so on? These things help, you know :) I focus more on the personality than the gender - I thought it would be odd to play a male character, but it turned out to be fun.

The again, if you've given it a try and don't like it, maybe it's just not your thing.

I'm a writer at heart so I'm never playing enternally as myself. It comes naturally to me as any other state. Don't think of it as you. Think of it as a story you're trying to tell.

And why you have this problem?

I don't treat Raksha as representation of myself in game world so I have no such problems. She is separate person, even is we share some traits.

I play female characters in any game that allows it. It feels normal to me. And not because I think some pixels are "hot". In fact, I find skimpy armors to be silly. I always dress in practical armor, meaning no heels, full body cover, etc. I think female characters and their armors look better then male counterparts.

I can play females (and do) rather easily. The trouble I have is anything but a Nord warrior type as the Dragonborn. Any other race, and most other classes just seem odd to me.

Shouting a lot and having the soul of a dragon describes a lot of women I know perfectly.

I don't think it's "silly". I have liked the fact that we have a choice in TES games. Being female, it is nice to be able to play as such, were as most AAA title games lock you into being the male protagonist. I love most any game that gives me that choice of character creation. I occasionally play as a male and it does seem a little silly but then I am used to being forced into the role in other games so it doesn't bother me as much. You fellas definitely have the advantage when it comes to gaming.
