Skyrim too easy? #2

I thought that was a great thread discussing one of the fundamentals of skyrim.

@RealmEleven
.
Alchemy; which leads to potions which can be sold for gold.
.
But, going by your connections idea, even chopping wood can lead to materials that make a bow which is used in combat. But it works the other way too. Combat leads to treasure which can be sold for gold. Does that make the game revolve about commerce? I mean, is my regular character (not the Craven Cat) a dragon slayer or just a big time arms dealer? My character probably has more gold than the Emperor and Ulfric put together and, where did this come from? At least 95% would have originated from arms dealing. Does that make the game revolve about arms dealing, given that it is the logical extension of all that dungeon-crawling?

1. you kill stuff

2. you loot stuff

3. you sell stuff

4.????

What do you do with that money? You can't buy stuff that you don't already have from looting and dungeon crawlers (Diablo, Torchlight, Borderlands) aren't about the money they are about the loot.

Even in real life what do you do with money alone? Nothing as money used to get stuff. If you already have everything money is useless.

5/5 training every level is pretty expensive. = D

That's what I do with money, and up until the late 40's I'm always scrounging for more.

What I do with the money: I pay for training sessions, or buy enchanted items that are still missing from my recipe book and haven't found them yet.

In the end, I'll run out of things to spend my gold on, but Skyrim isn't the first TES game you eventually reach that point.

Now, if hired thugs went to my house and destroyed it with everything inside, that would give me the motive to spend money there -and make sure they won't do that again. But I don't think this would be a popular idea, for good reasons

Depending on which game I'm playing, I like to pick up many, many followers and equip them all. That way, I can go get someone nearby, or someone specific if I need them, and they're all ready to go.

That's only when I've got pickpocket perks though, to deal with dismissing them.

That's also pretty expensive though, is my point. = D

Just to place my marker early in the thread:

I kill people because it's fun.

I mass wealth because it makes me feel good and important.

Why I kill people: Because Molag Bal bids me to, by trusting his mace to me. They will suffer
